Last summer Naughtydog was doing a promotion. They made a 90 minute movie by compiling footage from all three Jak games and were giving out copies of it randomly to people who registered at their site. 9000 copies to be exact(a very small number compared to the multimillions in sales each game earned). Being a huge Jak fan I signed up, despite the odds being against me. The promotion ended many months ago and I wasn't lucky enough to get one. I was even considering buying one on ebay, but there were none on ebay.

Then I got one in the mail earlier today. Somehow. I'm thinking they had leftovers from people who used fake addresses.

Now I have the choice of being the only person selling it on ebay, at whatever price I want... or holding on to it out of fandom.

We lost our old N64 Video that had previews of games that never came out. Like the Kirby racing game. sad

If it were me, I'd just rip the DVD then sell it. As long as I have the actual video so I can watch it, I'm good

Watched it last night. It doesn't really feel like a movie. It probably wouldn't make complete sense to someone who hasn't played any of the games. They had to cut out a decent chunk of content to fit it into a 90 minute movie, so it leaves you with way too much stuff going on to comprehend all at once and not enough downtime to soak up lesser details. So it's more like a montage of fun scenes from the games that only a player familiar with the series could enjoy.

Has anyone seen the MGS3 movie? How well did that turn out?

It works pretty well, since Metal Gear games tend to tell most of the important story info through cut scenes.

It's pretty much like watching a movie, only they cut out the transition scenes (whoopidy-doo) and skipped the fight scenes (which is the only sad part, since they are always badass).
