((for those who don’t know the Prince of Persia Trilogy, just read below, if you’re familiar with it, just skip to the real story below))

The Sands of Time, created by the Empress of Time, a great Calamity when it’s released, though it is beautiful to behold when it in encased in its hourglass. Thousands of years ago, a young Prince, made a grave mistake...he released the Sands on an unsuspecting kingdom. The Sands spread, corrupting the citizens, destroying buildings and changing everything to a vicious Shadow of their formal selves.
Though not all were changed, three people were spared, The Prince, a princess named Farah and a deceiving Vizier. The Prince teamed up with Farah, who was as equally deceiving, but she only wished to save her kingdom. They eventually were able to save the kingdom, but Farah lost her life in the process.
The Prince, who loved Farah, was able to use the Hourglass and the Dagger of Time and perform a Grand Rewind to a time where she was alive. He warned her about the events to come and the vizier was killed in a fight with the Prince.
All seemed well for our young hero, he thought he could live a normal life, but fate had other plans. For seven long years, the demonic incarnation of fate, The Dahaka, has chased him relentlessly. Desperate for help, he asked an old, wise friend of the family, he was able to provide information, but that was only it.
“ whoever opens the Sands must die...the beast, The Dahaka, will capture you and see to it that you meet your fate...”
He told him about the Island of Time, the place where the sands were created. Prince got the idea to travel to the Island and stop the creation of the sands, that way, it would stop his younger self from releasing the sands and the Dahaka would have no quarrel with him.
He traveled to the Island, only to have the Empress’ armies attack him, killing his crew and stranding him on the Island of Time. Turns out, the Empress was trying to escape her own death, which is why she tried to keep the Prince from the Island. The Prince fell in love with Kaileena, The Empress and tried to help her escape her own fate.
Together, they defeated the Dahaka and they went back to Babylon together, only to find the city under attack by the vizier, who, because the sands were never created, never died. The vizier killed Kaileena and unleashed the sands to become immortal. He turned to the Time God, Zurvan and the Prince was yet again thrust into the world he thought he escaped.
But the Prince did not make it through this unscathed, he had become infected with the sands and a darker persona was created within him. He met up with Farah once more and was able to kill Zurvan and the sands went away along with his darker half....

Our story begins many years later...
