I don't know her but a girl in a town near mine was killed today... heres what the news is saying:Harker Heights student struck by vehicle and killed, second student injured
A Harker Heights High School student was struck by a tractor-trailer and killed Monday morning while attempting to cross the street near the high school, the Killeen Independent School District confirmed.
Witnesses at the scene reported that two female high school students were attempting to cross Farm-to-Market 2410 at the Verna Lee intersection when a tractor-trailer hauling construction materials hit the girls.
Police working the scene confirmed that one student was killed. The other girl was reportedly taken to Scott & White Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The student who was killed was identified on the high school's Web site as Amanda Ware. The injured student was identified on the site as Aurora Shirley.
Witnesses said the tractor-trailer was attempting to make a right turn onto FM 3481 when it hit the two students who were standing on a median between the right-turn lane and the main lanes of FM 2410.
Preliminary reports from the school district were that the girls were student athletes participating on a morning training run.
A results list from a recent cross-country meet in which the two girls participated listed Ware as a freshman and Shirley as a junior.
Harker Heights police are working the scene and will release a report later today.
I don't know her but I still want to ask Please opray for the dead girl's family and for the injured girl...
