Lion (Panthera leo)
Weight: 330-550 lb (male); 260-330 lb (female) Life span: 10-14 years Found: In Africa and India
Diet: Prey consists of large mammals, such as antelopes, gazelles, warthogs, wildebeest, buffalos and zebras, but smaller animals such as hares and birds are also taken occasionally. Lions are scavengers as much as they are hunters.
Social Behavior: Lions generally will live in prides, which usually consist of related females, their cubs, and a group of one to four males. Other lions may live the nomadic life (rogues) without a territory.
In prides, females will generally do the hunting while the males patrol the territory.
Number of cubs a lion will give birth to at SoA: Up to six cubs; if they breed with a random rogue, up to three cubs. Adolescents, while they can breed, will have half the number of cubs as an adult.
Types of SoA Lions:
Rogue
Rogues really vary in size and appearance, as they may come from a mixture of backgrounds. Occasionally they will form nomadic groups for brief periods of time, but these rarely have a rigid heirarchacal structure.

Pridelander lions are (in general) larger than the Umande'mfuni and Ela'wadiyi, and those with the pride blood in them will generally have golden or brown coats.
Motoujamii
Motoujamii lions are the largest of the lions (in general), and those with the pride blood in them will generally have some shade of red or black pelt.
Umande'mfuni
Umande'mfuni lions are smaller than Pridelanders (generally), and those with the pride blood in them are generally some type of gray, blue, white, or black.
Ela'wadiyi
The Ela'wadiyi are the smallest of the lions, with very thick manes. They are generally natural colors (blacks, browns, greys, whites), and their pelts are typicaly heavily tattooed.
