Dusty Rhodes has successfully lobbied for WWE to add tag team titles to ECW. New belts have been ordered and are expected to be ready by the end of the month.

There was much opposition to this because many feel that the company already has enough championship belts. Rhodes pushed Vince McMahon hard, saying that ECW is too one-dimensional and shallow when it comes to talent. The tag team titles would give more purpose to different people on the show and allow more variety in booking.

As far as talent is concerned, La Résistance (Rene Dupree and Sylvan) were the first team brought over. Their profiles were recently removed from ECW.com for some unknown reason, but they are still considered to be aligned with ECW.

WWE also plans on calling Vito back up to the main roster so that he could go back to his old gimmick; teaming with Little Guido Maritato to reform the FBI. Also, they would be managed by Trinity. However, they are trying to come up with a logical explanation because of how they were broken up, not to mention the emphasis on Vito wearing a dress. He won't be wearing a dress when he returns though.

Rhodes is also pushing for Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch to move over to ECW after WrestleMania. Dusty Rhodes likes both guys a lot.

Lastly, there are no plans at the moment as far as a time or place to crown the new champions is concerned. Although, the timing means that something should be going down right after WrestleMania.

There is a lot of negativity towards Batista right now from the Smackdown crew. There is tremendous resentment of him from many in the locker room, some of which he had from day one due to negative things he said about Smackdown while he was on the RAW roster.

Some feel that Batista was a guy hand-picked for stardom by Jim Cornette (when he was head of OVW) and Vince McMahon based off his physique alone, who doesn’t have passion for wrestling that the Benoit and Mysterio types have. Most within the company attribute his popularity with fans to the rub he got from HHH and Ric Flair. The feeling backstage is that they are lucky crowds haven’t completely turned on him already.

Kurt Angle made himself the first to publicly bash Batista when in a recent interview with Live Audio Wrestling he said that Batista is simply “horrible.”

It's funny because it's basically true, just look at the talent they've brought
in in the past one or two years. Not saying everyone's like that though. sweatdrop

Like Mr. Kennedy? Or do you mean someone else?

Mr. Kennedy is talented though, but as for Batista, I said it before and I'll say it again, all brawn, no brain. He was only champ for this long because he looked like a Asian Brock Lesnar! I personally don't care too much for him and I hope he loses at Wrestlemania, a man like him don't deserve a push THIS big because of his "physique" which is gross!

As for the tag titles, I personally hope that they do come back, it would be good to see Sabu and RVD become a tag team. It would also be good to see some of the Originals back and maybe school the WWE roster and all, but the fact is that chances are it won't happen.

Since it's only a one hour show, and they have too much story for that one hour as it is, new tag belts for ECW is just plain stupid. I appreciate the idea of getting more prestige and notice for some of the ECW people, both present and future, but come on. It's not ECW now, and doing stuff like this is slowly driving people away. Choking up an already over-packed talent pool with more hacks just to get legitimate teams is one of the stupidest things i could have expected them to do. That being said, i'm not surprised one bit. It seems recently like Vince is actively trying to kill ECW and it's fan base.

My opinion---blah...

You're correct - it is not like the original ECW now. However, Vince doesn't see it as or want it to be like the original ECW. Vince wants a third brand to push guys like Lashley. I don't think they have too much story for one hour - ECW's feuds are actually rather weak. The only major ECW-only story going on is New Breed vs Originals. The rest of the show is hyping the feud for McMahon/Umaga and Trump/Lashley. The ECW brand by itself only has about one feud going on.

I think the tag team belts could be a good idea if used right, but right now there's no point to a tag team belt for like 3 teams to fight over.

what the use for having tag team title in ECW , there is not too many teams in ECW and plus where the ECW T.V. title , but you already know that ECW is dead , 1. this year ECW one night stand won't be in the same area like last two year , it will be different location , 2. less extreme match and 3. no good matches.

all true.but if the tag team titles are bought in,teams will have to be made with story lines.this means a possible increase on the new breed vs originals storyline, which could improve, meanin we''l have sabu+rvd and most likely elijah burke and marcus cor von.thats if rvd lasts til summer....
i think the message is simple:
BRING BACK HEYMAN
GIVE HIM COMPLETE CONTROL!!!!!
STOP BEING AFRAID OF EXTREME/HARDCORE MATCHS AND LET THEM BE USED!!!!!
