Tuesday, March 13th is going to be a happy day for me for that is the day God of War 2 comes out, one my favorite actions games. I can't wait. mrgreen
I've been playing the original one while I wait to get a hang of things again. Thankfully the next one is going to include more boss fights and none of that Spinning Blade Pillars of Hades. [Which the company actually apologized for...]
Anyone else love the first one/waiting for the second one?

I picked up GoW2 today and so far so good. It's a lot like the first one, but plays a lot smoother. Hell of a first level and the Pegasus stages kick a**. mrgreen

I haven't played either, I played Okami instead. Not that they're related, but I only play 1 PS2 game at a time lest my PS2 explode again. I do think it's cool that you have all the fatality varieties though. It's pretty much why I ever played MK.
Anyway it's SORT of related since GoW2 is basically the last big game on PS2, although not quite. But I would like to comment on the PS2's demise (I couldn't find a thread suited to such a thing). The home page reads "The PS2 is a great and always will be a great console" and in order to vent some Sony hatred I'll say I don't agree. I do beleive it has quite the library, rivaled only by the original NES and perhaps the original PSX, perhaps my favorite collection of games but the console itself is hands down my LEAST faavorite. Considering it was the last system I bought before Wii and the first to explode (ever) I'm not too pleased. Either it was the weak AV cable, or it was the dreaded DRE... I've heard plenty of PS2 tragedies. If it was just the console itself I'd say no big deal. But the console TOOK games with it when it died! At the end of it's life it could actively break whatever game/DVD you attempted to play! It destroyed my first copy of Suikoden 5, and Budokai 3. (I think it also may have claimed my Cowboy Bebop dvds). It was ugly, it got dusty as hell inside, the external HDD was a 50 dollar paperweight (minus FF XI of course, which I sadly purchased), and it was the only console of it's generation with only 2 controller ports. If it didn't have such powerful 3rd party backing I would abandon Sony in a heartbeat. We must remember it's not Sony that releases such wonderful games, but their own respective companies. In fact Sony is quite against 2d games that we all love like KoF because they think it's a step backwards in technology. Only a tiny portion of the company is Video games, so in order to complement the other parts (general technology like TVs Computers and Sound Systems) they push the concept that only shiney graphics and an absurd amount of technological extras (like blu ray, and MP3, and movie players) not having to do with VG can make a good console. Soon we'll just be buying PCs from sony that plug into your tv :/

We'll probably have to change the title since God of War: Chains of Olympus will be coming out. I am getting a copy of the demo from my friend Russell! domokun
