Ravii trotted through the underbrush of the woods, blue eyes bright in the morning light. It was early, yes, and chilly but the cream and violet splashed wolf was on a mission. Time was running out, and the wolfess had gotten a bit of a late start on her search. She needed to find a den - and a perfect one at that!
There had been something different in her gait lately. A lightness to her step, a purpose. Her smile came much more easily (not that it was difficult to start!) and her sky blue eyes glowed with some sort of pride. As if she knew a secret that none in the rest of the world could know.
Earlier in her younger years, the cream and violet wolfess had wondered where her life might lead. It had been a difficult journey, and there had been shadows and pain. But everything - EVERYTHING - had been flipped upside down and so quickly. She didn't have to question why she was here, for she knew. It had been fate, destiny, which had brought her to run in to her handomse red furred, sweet-tongued companion.
And through him, though quickly, it had brought her to this next step.
Family.
Her belly was starting to bulge, though it had long since been unknown. When this had happened, Ravii didn't question - it just did. But she feared not, in fact, she was quite the excited expectant mother to be.
No, she hadn't told Eros, but she figured the red furred wolf would be able to put two and two togther. Perhaps her body language and subtle hints would help guide the male to what was happening, what was changing.
Everything was changing, but it was a good change, a great change. Ravii could finally have the happy family, the happy pack, of her dreams. Her children wouldn't fight and suffer like she did - oh no. Eros and she would be there for them, forever, whenever.
Tail high in the air behind her, like a flag in the wind, the wolf paused in her tracks and studied a small clearing. Hnnn. She'd prefer something near the river. A fallen log might provide the beginning of a shelter, but she'd much prefer an actual cave or den.
On with the search!
Shaking out her coat, the female continued along her way, knowing Eros (wherever he may be) wasn't far from her trail. Anytime she needed him, he was but a howl or a yip away.

(( Shinz can't write tonight xD ))
Eros was not far from Ravii. In fact it seemed he was never far from her. He gave her space though, not exactly wanting to meet half the wolves she met. Yet he stayed in distance, sometimes close enough he could see her…make sure she was never in trouble.
It seemed odd to think of Eros as not the social type, but you see once he has found a lady he's quite fond of, he doesn't really care about anyone else but her. (Unless a pretty little girl come by…but that's a story for another time.)
He spent most of his time with her…the way she made him feel…there wasn't quite words to it. Ravii was perhaps one of his favorite mistresses so far, proving always a delight. The scarlet wolf could even see himself spending quite some time with her. Not an eternity like normal mates, but one…maybe two years, which was practically an eternity for Eros.
Ravii was searching for something; Eros had no idea what it was. He had listened to her scramble through this bit of forest for most of the morning, smelled her delightful sent, even seen her lovely sapphires for eyes a few times already. She seemed in a joyful mood, then again she always seemed to be, that being one of the many reasons he loved her so.
Eros was lying in a patch of dead grass. Winter seemed to be almost over, yet spring had yet to showed its shiny face. Snow was now slush, and half the woods was nothing more then dead underbrush. This was probably annoying most of the wolves in these woods, however he didn't care, it was good lying weather.
Besides, why would he be in a rush anywhere? He had Ravii, why would he leave?
Slightly concerned by Ravii's search, he found himself up and wandering towards the female, until he caught sight.
"They way you're searching, you'd think you'd lost your tail, love," his voice was slightly raised, only to ensure she would hear him, and his words were quickly followed by a deep laugh.

((Oh no - it's perfect! <3 )) Ravii turned at the sound of Eros' voice, heart fluttering in her chest the way it always seemed to upon hearing it. How she adored her new found companion, her mate. Part of the cream and violet splashed wolf couldn't believe that she had someone she could call that - a mate.
How long had she searched and hoped? Many a time she'd contemplated such a concept, to find one love to trust fully. To share with the good times and the bad, a kind of companionship that was more than just a pack or a friend. Eros had her complete trust and faith. Surely their time together was wonderful, and he was as gentle and sweet as she'd thought him to be when they first met. He had yet to fail her and her heart was only for him.
She'd given it up to the scarlet male, and she trusted with utmost faith she had his own.
Little did she know.
With such love came a price, and that price was the beginning of new life. The life she held within her tummy, the growing children within, all sprouted from the love they now shared.
Perhaps her ideas were romanticized, but then, Ravii couldn't help but be swept off her feet by the games of the heart. Like a puppy herself, the female turned and trotted back to her love. "Oh," she laughed, rubbinng against his chest in a catlike manner, reveling in his scent and the feel of his thick fur against her. Tail wagging, she licked his muzzle fondly - Ravii was truly an affectionate wolf, making up for all the years lost.
"I'm just excited, really. Just searching for the perfect place for us, a place to settle for a wee bit. A place to welcome in the spring." Ravii wasn't sure whether or not Eros understood that she was pregnant, but she didn't think the surprise would last for long. Her tummy was already showing, and if that wasn't a major sign, Ravii didn't know what was. Eros had to notice the weight she'd gained . . . it wasn't as if it weren't obvious.
"But perhaps this place won't be right," she glanced over her shoulder, not entirely happy with the set up. Blue eyes sparkeled as her mind imagined their life ahead - puppies romping, Eros and Ravii watching them grow, teaching them to hunt, to kill, guiding them through their life. Oh. . . not once did Ravii ever think of herself as a mother but with Eros? Anything was possible.
Shaking her dreams out of her head, she looked back at her adoring mate. "I just want it to be perfect for us." A little whine in her throat and she all but begged Eros to agree.

Eros wasn't the empathic type.
Some may argue that he understood woman, or at least the gaining of ladies far too well not to at least care. Oh he had feelings, love (his twisted view of it), lust, even the spark of excitement every now and then. How he enjoyed stringing woman along, deceiving them, playing for his own enjoyment.
Perhaps his lacking of care was what finally allowed him to leave at the end. For he loved all his ladies, and if he was simply to stay…well lets say he'd have a lot of mistresses.
His theory was it was better love and loose, then catch your mate sleeping with seven other wolves.
A wet tongue touched his mussel, and he couldn't help but to beam. She could be so silly at times, yet this was what he loved about her…that and the constant affection. He loved love.
"Ohh," Eros responded, his normally deep charming voice seemed to be laced with a slight confused hum. A den seemed odd, but he wasn't willing to see it for any other purpose then their own comfort. This seemed like a sweet valley…he could stay for a while.
Eros was an optimist. He'd noticed Ravii gaining weight, but had quickly blown this off as nothing. A pessimist would know it was puppies…
"Whatever is best for you hun," she seemed quite picky…then again females always were with dens. He'd probably pick the closest place dig for about ohh five minutes, then sleep…but honestly females knew best on these sort of things.
"Hmm," he hummed a rumble of amusement. "I can only expect the best from you. This place seems slightly big for just the two of us…maybe we should look for something smaller?"
(( Uta, if you want to make this a quickie arpee I totally understand *knows you're probably dieing like her to Rp the pups* <3 ))

((*laughs* Would you mind terribly so. . . .? I know things happened VERY quickly but . . . . x3 It was still fun while it lasted. *lol* I'll keep it open to your interpretation. If you want to drag it out, that's fine too. If you'd rather quickly wrap it so we can get on with puppies being born, feel free to respond accordingly. ;3 *doesn't want to do anything you don't want to*))
Ravii stayed near Eros, blue eyes admiring the red and white furred male with fond affection. She was silly to have given her heart away so quickly, without any thought. The wolfess trusted his words explicetly and never doubted the legitimate truth that lurked behind them. . . Or as much truth as she believed.
Ravii didn't play games of the heart - it wasn't within her. Too much work, too much deception, and ultimately too much heartache. What sort of creature could be so cruel as to manipulate one?
Surely not Ravii, and SURELY not Eros.
A fool she was, perhaps, but to love was the greatest gift Ravii could offer. To truly find one who adored her, who cherished her company enough to call her a mate, a companion. She lived for this - all her years of lonliness were whisked away by Eros' affection.
Still nuzzled close, the cream wolf craned her head over her shoulder to re-evaluate the area of land before them. Maybe she was wrong in her first opinions? The river may be nice, but it also attracted a variety of other animals to its gentle shores. Predators galore could easily stumble upon the den . . . . so perhaps staying farther away would be more beneficial?
The clearing made it easy to spot any approaching creatures, and if Ravii had it her way their litter would not be traveling very far out of her (or Eros') sight! Blue eyes drifting over the small clearing, her eyes chanced upon what appeared to be overturned roots near the edge of the woods beyond.
Perhaps . . . . perhaps this place did have some magic to it.
And Eros was right about it being spacious. Turning adoring eyes back up at Eros, she nuzzled under his chin. "Well, we don't really know how many there'll be," she laughed, ears splayed affectionately. Tail wagging, she turned from Eros and trotted easily across the small clearing of woods. Not quite a hundred feet away, within the confines of over grown weeds and foliage, was what lay left of an uprooted tree. It lookd as if a storm had blown the thing over many years ago. The bark was molding and moss covered around the tree bark, but the aged, wind-blown tree was still very thick and sturdy past the decay. Grown wolves could easily stand upon it with no fear of it breaking.
And, a small, abandoned rabbits nest began underneath.
It would be perfect. All she had to do was dig a few feet further, unerneath the tree, and a perfect little home could be built. The tree was strong enough, and surrounding bushes would further cover what would soon be hidden underneath.
Sniffing the tree, ears pricked, Ravii couldn't help but feel her spirits soar. Yes. . . this place could work. Far enough away from the river to avoid unwanted interest, but close enough for her pups and herself to take a quick trip for a drink. Experience reminded her that the surrounding area wasn't heavily populated - both a good and bad thing. Less populated trails meant more privacy but . . . . less food. Prey was abundant enough to not starve, but might take a bit of tracking to hunt down.
That was all right. She had Eros to help with the hunting and what a godsend he would be!
Excited by her new discovery, Ravii made sure to thoroughly check out the surrounding area. The fallen tree would provide cover during stormy weather, and protection from wandering strangers. The clearing would allow Ravii to keep an easier eye on what was in the area, but the woods would also provide a close source of entertainment and little life-experiences for her puppies to discover. Under Ravii watchful eye, of course!
Scratching at the ground, as if claiming the small spot of land as her own, Ravii turned blue eyes on to Eros. "Well, love, what do you think? Think we could make this work. . .?" Oh, but of course they could! Anything was possible so long as they were together.
Tail raised high, she hopped on top of the decaying tree. For a glimmber moment, she looked as confident as she felt. Ravii was going to be a mother, and perhaps this new instinct would throw away the last of her uncertainty, the last of her shyness. She would have to be strong for her children, to teach them the ways of the woods, the laws of the lands.
Raising puppies wasn't an easy task, but together with Eros, they would become the best parents the woods had ever discovered.
If only Ravii could have her way. . . ((Sorry if its choppy. . . I got distracted 80 billion times during this. My roomie/ex came home drunk and he's unbearable during those times. >< Argh. ))

(( =) No problem <3 *is excited about rping the little guys* xD if you want this can be the last post…or you can add one more, or more then that if you'd like *shall leave that up to you* <3 ))
Eros watched in content at the female observed him. Not saying a single word…although his body language muttered a thousand. He enjoyed her affection, loving this moment…loving their bond.
Yup, just Eros and Ravii…or so he thought.
He nuzzled her back, watching with a slight concern. Why was she so picky about the place? It was nearly a den…something that lones nearly never had! Perhaps she wanted to feel like she was in a pack…? Maybe.
Oh well… he thought sitting promptly on his rump, trying to hide confusion from his partner. She seemed so happy with this…yet it was nearly den searching. Who was he to rain on her parade? Eros closed his eyes for a moment…trying to imaging this from her point of view…still missing something.
Where the hell was that piece of the puzzle?
Then it hit him straight between the eyes…
"Well, we don't really know how many there'll be," …
Oh. My… ohmyohmy! His heart beat faster in a hellish soul-ripping thumps. She was pregnant!
His first instinct was to run. Escape this nightmare, never to see Ravii again. He still love her…and somewhere deep down he knew that this would always be true…but pups! Eros was not ready!!!
Besides...how fast could a pregnant wolf run anyways…
Somehow Eros kept his composure. No longer dabbing in their love, but looking far into the distance, heart broken. He didn't know what to say…but he knew what he would have to do.
The crimson wolf would stay with Ravii until the pups are born, and Ravii was safe to care for them on her own. Then one night he will slip out, hopefully it would be like he was never there.
He planned never to tell her of this. He love Ravii, and instantly hated the unborn pups for ripping them apart. Eros would love and take care of her until that day…that horrid horrid day.
"Yes…" his voice was dry, yet still carried love…the same love that glittered in his golden eyes for her. "This place will do fine."
