I have recently joined a new church (well I was actually forced to join, but oh well...) but this new church is really weird. When I say weird, I mean stupidly strick and just utterly redicules!!! For example: We had this "nerd night" where everyone was suppose to dress up as a nerd. It was suggested that we should play the video for "White & Nerdy" by Weird Al to kick off the night. However, the youth paster said that we shouldn't do that because it might offend white people (btw I'm white) because apperently "the whole song makes fun of white people." HEEEELLLLOOO!!! We are having a NERD night!!! Plus Weird Al is white!!! Also, the youth pastor got on to me because I was wearing shorts on a Wensday night. He said that they don't allow shorts to be worn at all. Again, it was 90 degrees Fairenheit out their, on a WENSDAY night, in YOUTH group!!! So where I am going with is.... What should I do? It's obvious that I can't follow all their rules. Should I beg my parents to death to go to another church? Should I just stick it out, but not follow the stupid rules? Please HELP!!!!

That is pretty strict. Why are you forced to go to this youth group? I'd suggest finding another if it's not suiting you.

I go to two youth groups. I try different ones so I can learn from both. If I don't like one as much I just go to the other more often. I also explain this to God and my Mom.

I have no idea how old this thread is, but oh well...
I say dont go to church!!! God doesn't live there, but in the Hearts of all humanity.
I'll also say that it seems like one of those dumb "All people can come and get salvation, even if they don't like it" places. As far as I'm concerned, places that FORCE God and His Fire (or word, Jesus Christ) fall blasphemous onto them, as it is rooted in the individual's craving for domination and power. It is therefore better to "worship"* God in your own way. (*I use the term in speach marks because I think the ACTION of worship is only for the result of COMMUNICATION with God and His Fire, not to grovel like a worthless idiot who doesn't have communion with God but believes he'l' be saved by simple prostrations once a week.)
I also think that youth groups are stupid because they harbour and nuture conformity, something God and His Fire doesn't want.
Well, that's my take on things...
