I got my ears pierced in May of 2005, and there's a *slight* problem. One of the earrings is stuck. I changed the earrings, and I currently only wear one because of infection. The problem is that the other one is stuck.
I could turn it up until tomorrow, and today it hurts to touch it. It look normal, and the back is fine-looking. When I try to take it out it starts to burn.
I've been cleaning it with peroxide, but I can't take it out.
I'm gonna try again later today.

I also have very sensitive ears. It sounds like you have an infection. It may burn, but clean it with alchol, the alchol will kill bactiria. if it gets puss in it and starts to oozz, then you might want to see a dr, and get an antibiotic. Then when you can, place your studs back in and let your ears heal. I often have to paint the backs of my earings with clear fingernail polish to wear cheaper earings.

Gosh, that sounds painful. >.< *is currently trying to fight off two infections of her own, and can't figure out where they're coming from*
It might be best for you to leave the piercing in, even if it hurts. If you have an infection the earring acts as a drain, and if you take it out and the hole seals up you could get an abcess in there.
Have you gone to a piercer? They might be able to tell what's causing it and offer you some useful suggestions for cleaning it up, or different types of metal posts. If it's very very sore or the glands in your throat start swelling up, you should probably go to a doctor and get yourself some antibiotics.
In the meantime, I'd suggest that you don't use peroxide to clean it. Soak some cloth with saline (about a quarter of a teaspoon of uniodised salt to a cup of water) as hot as you can stand it, and leave it on for about five minutes per piercing. Do it a couple of times a day, and spray them with mild antiseptic or tea tree oil to kill any bacteria.
Most importantly, don't fiddle with them when they're infected. The piercing won't close up while there's an earring in there, and you don't really need to turn it as you can damage the healing tissue.

No no no, don't clean it with peroxide! Peroxide makes the skin heal over. Which is probably why it's stuck. Clean it with rubbing alcohol, or the stuff that they give you for piercings. Do that a couple of times and then try to get it out. You also may be allergic to something in the earrings. It's best you go find out. I can only wear earrings that are gold, stainless steel, or plastic (if you've been in Hot Topic, or places that have gauges, I'm talking about the plastic gauges).

the stuff that they give you for piercings is made out of peroxide ^^. I cleaned all my [ear] piercings with it and nothing horrible happened to me, promise. If you're worried about it, you just need to dilute it. I also used bactine on the bellybutton to keep out the germs. The earring may just be stuck to itself, keep trying. Try twisting the back to unstick it. GOOD LUCK!

The same thing happened to me after I got my ears pierced a second time a few years ago. It turned out that I was allergic to the kind of metal, so I needed new earings. All I really did was clean it with piercing solution and it slid right out. It also depends on where it's pierced. My mom got hers pierced way at the top a few months ago and it got infected, only she had to see a doctor and, yeah.

just whatever you do don't clean it with alcohol...(srry other posters)
yes alcohol is a disinfectant, but it has another property to it. It dries things out, that's why it's good for cuts.(please do believe me on this because i was told by a professional piercer)
i agree with the others in that it might just be the metal in them. Try going to see someone about it. mrgreen

Some people just can't wear earings, I tried twice and both closed, and one of those times was infected to the point skin grew over the stud and the doctor pushed it out through the skin
