"Well, I do have this.." said draku softly and reached into his back pack. He retrieved a glistening golden compass. It had such elegance and detail that whoever used it looked upon its beauty instead of the arrow pointing north. Draku asked a nearby person, one of the few left that wandered the streets, where the nearest city was.
"There is a port to your west, an elegant city. It's called Xiphos. There is a troll village to your east. However, the undead have stolen most of their food." the man cleared his throat and continued, " Now is not the right time to pass by there."
The young man gave him a wink and left, vanishing in the dusty streets of Talnaar.

"That thing is absolutely beautiful..."she whispered and climbed down to his arm and examined it"This thing shows you the direction of a city or village, just by asking someone what way it is...Doesnt it..."she added and stared back at him"Quite a unique device...".

"Enough with this. We must head to Xiphos." he said, cutting off Lecta, "Since the troll village is not an option. I dont want to become a cursed being. wE must leave."
Draku ordered his horse to leave. With much haste, the horse galloped to the southern gate of the city. He examined the compass once more and turned towards the wester n direction.

She let out a growl and she shook her feathers, landing on his shoulder once more and breathed hard, examening his compase"West..."she whipered to herself and shifted her feathers"The troll are kind people, but if what he said is true...They go cannibal when theres a shortage of food..."she laughed softly and examined her suroundings.

"We're heading off to Xiphos."said Draku blankly. "I dont know how far that is."
Draku followed his compass to the west. That was the only thing that was guiding him. Otherwise, he wouldnt know where he was.

"I'm just going to, sit here on your shoulder for a bit..."a soft laugh escaped her lips and she dug her claws into the fabric of his clothes, lowering herself against his shoulder, she stared at the horrid looking forest"There taking over the forest...Even the tree's no longer look like tree's..."Green ooze ran out of a tree's gaping mouth. Thats what it seemed to be. A twisted agonising face. Green liquid dripped from the eyes and mouth. She trembled and looked away.

Draku has now traveled for one mile, passing some rolling hills and reached a steep cliff. Scorching hot winds slapped Draku's face that he immediately looked away. The greenlands have ended and have revealed a terrifying sight. An incredible land mass of pure sand stetched to the horizon and no sign of life was visible. Strong winds walked the deserts, carrying blowing away the sand, creating a mini tornado. They have come upon a vast desert that seemed impossible to cross. Draku closed his eyes into slits, observing what was at the end of the desert. From where he was, he could only see a green dot. He could hardly believe that a port would exist at the end of the desert.

She gasped out in pain and covered her eyes with her wings"What is that vile place?"she asked and jumped from his shoulder"Do you have a bandana?"she asked and kept her eyes shut"Its much to bright for my kind....We can stand light but...This is to much..."a nervous laugh passed thru her lips and she shook her head slowly.
