This was unbelievable. She went into the damn shop for directions, and now she had to STAY on this empire-forsaken planet?! Nessalyn was fuming, her long hair flowing down her back, her braid having been pulled out in frustration.
She paced the Wand Shoppe back and fort, the wand itself resting in her hands. For some reason, she felt reluctant to really put it down. And at least the thing was aesthetically pleasing. It was sharpened, like a weapon, with sharp...knives? coming out of it.
But it stunk a bit. Well. A good polish with lemon oil would fix that!~
"This is really too much. All I wanted were directions!" Vaguely, the commander wondered if anyone else had been trapped in this situation. It would be interesting to see if maybe she could get them all to revolt!
EDIT: Titlefix.

Well, someone else had. But they were reacting in a quite a different manner. William seemed pleased with this situation. Considerable more so than his daughter, who was annoyed by the fact that their new 'wand' looked like driftwood. "This sucks. I wanted a PROPER wand, not THIS!" William, who was continually rolling the wand over in his hands, just glanced at her, "You do realize this isn't a magic wand, don't you?" Chrissy just stared, looking somewhat displeased by this reply. Then she canted her hips, and said as if she were explaining something very simple to someone very stupid, "What other sorts of wands could there be?"

Coming out from behind a shelf, the woman saw a pair, standing there, delightedly cradling a rather soggy wand. Aha! The opportunity arises! Quickly, as comes with years of practice, her burgundy hair was throw into its braid and secured, her jacket fastened tight.
It was an impressive image, all the gold and brass, with the many tassles and braids on the shoulders. It was a Commander's jacket, and she wore it with pride. Right now, she was wearing it with frustration.
"Pardon me. You have one as well?" Gingerly, she held up the jagged, violent-looking wand, being sure to keep it well away from her nose. Yes, it would definitely need a polish.

William was surprised by this sudden appearance, and blinked, staring for a moment, then shaking himself out of it, looking at his wand and replying with a slow 'yes'. Oh, wow. Cool coat. Chrissy held onto William's pants and gazed up at this impressive looking woman. Now THAT'S how a lady should dress. "I didn't think they'd all look different though," William said, looking perplexed. Then he narrowed his eyes, "Were you asked to touch a book?"

Oh yes, that definitely sounded familiar. "Yes. I thought directions back to the port would be in the book! Apparently not, as I am being told that I can't leave now, and I have to stay with this...stick!"
Lightly, she twirled it on her fingertips, and about choked on the scent that came out. Why did this thing smell so badly?!
Spotting the girl, she couldn't help but smile a bit. "Is the wand hers, or yours?" That would be interesting. She hadn't seen any children in the shop yet, but it wouldn't help her plan to run off with the sticks. Wands. Whatever.

"It's mine," they both replied at the same time, and William gave her an odd look, "I thought you didn't want it?" "I do now."
Now that this very interesting woman had one as well, at least. She noticed the smell though, and screwed her nose up, "Ew, what's that?" she asked, blocking it and looking around. It was gross.
William sighed, having tried to ignore the smell himself. It was obvious it was coming from the wand, and didn't want to upset the woman or anything. But, she didn't seem to fond of it anyway.

Exasperatedly, Nessalyn smoothed her braid. Any of her officers would know it as a nervous gesture, one she developed as a cadet. "It's coming from the stick, and I have no idea why. I wonder if this place has any polish lying around. It should. It's a stick shop."
She was extremely concerned with getting the smell on her coat. If that happened, it would all be over. Her crew would lose their opinions of her, and her officers.
Oh god. Sergei would go absolutely mad with laughter.
Changing tack, she smiled again. Something rare. "So. You're stuck here too?"

"Seems like it," William said, holding the wand up, out of a very peeved Christine's head, "This is a permanate situation then?" Oh well...wasn't like he had anything terribly important going on.
He paused for a moment, then looked around, just for the sake of it, "I'm sure there's some way back." Whether he'd go or not, he wasn't sure.

"I was under the impression that the stick couldn't leave the area. Why that is, I don't know, but I am quite upset. I have a position that I cannot easily abandon!" Nor did she want to. It was nice to have someone to rant at however. Not that she sounded that way. No, her voice was quite calm, and only her words were clipped.
Setting the jagged thing on the counter, she straightened her jacket and leaned a bit against a wall.
"So. Did they say yours has a name?" Small talk couldn't hurt her mood. Really.

((I'm not sure whether they give out their names or not ^^; ))
"A stick with a name?" William asked, looking confused, "Well...no. Should they have?...does YOURS have a name?" This was all very odd...Wands with names, of all things.

(( Sorry it took me so long. Have been bleh the past while. And my wand-finding was never finished, so I'm going to make up some stuff right here for RP purposes. ))
"Well...aren't they special? I was fairly sure I was told it would have a name. I personally haven't thought of anything to call mine. Stick perhaps." She twirled the thing again, still more than a bit annoyed. The commander couldn't find anyone that was worth poking for information.
Sadly, this pair seemed about as clueless as she was!

((It's ok ^^ And I will too, mine wasn't finished either.))
William was looking incredibly skeptical now. What had happened so far was one thing, but naming a stick. That was...he didn't even know what that was. "Well....if anything special happens with my stick, I'll be sure to think of a name." "Trent!" Chrissy said eagerly, grinning, "If it should have a name, then lets give it one. I like Trent. It's tough." "No it isn't..." William sighed, and shook his head, waving the wand a bit, "Fine, call it Trent if you want. I'm just...not going to call it anything. Because it's a stick."

"Well, at least you agree with me. I don't know what this 'wand' crap is about, but it's just a pointy stick. A dangerously pointy stick, but hey, at least if anyone attacks me I am not defenseless." Not that she ever would be. She almost snorted at the thought.
It also occurred to Nessalyn that she was being oddly informal. It might have been the situation. But she was willing to bet it was anger.
And she couldn't help but like the girl. She was so cheerful, and seemed excited about this. "So you deal with this 'magic' stuff often?"

"Never. Magic belongs in books or movies," William said, shaking his head incredulously. Come somewhere for the interesting sealife, and you get a magic stick thrown at you. Go figure. "He doesn't believe in magic, but Trent's proved him wrong," Chrissy said, grinning widely, "I always knew it was true. Did you believe in magic before?"
