[THE FACTION S TECHNICIANS]

Also known as "techies", the technicians are essentially NPC characters here for three purposes. First of all, to faciliate the creation of chimeras and the running of Faction S. Secondly, they supervise lab visits and Mentor-Canidate matchups. Third, they also serve as medical staff, since they are scientists after all. If you need a techie for an RP plot, PM the mule stating the filename of your child, which techie, and what you want him/her for. If said techie has a player, you may contact him/her directly. If the techie is an NPC, you will be informed whether you may play the techie yourself or Cry will play the techie. If you are fufilling an RP requirement such as a checkup or chimera visit, please follow standard procedure for class signups. (PM the mule or ask the teacher/techie directly.)

..Mentor Visits..
During the first stage, please complete the following.

..Mentor Visit I
Type: Journal RP
Length: 500+ words
Prompt: The purpose of the mentor visits is to check for compatibility between the child and the mentor. The first visit normally takes place in a playroom at Faction S with a time limit of one hour. Techie L supervises and keeps time, but otherwise does not interfere. This is where the child and the mentor meet for the first time. At arrival, the mentor will also be given a large stack of paperwork to peruse later.

..L's Notes
Type: Optional
Description: The Head of the Department, Techie L, is always present for observation during mentor assigning. We all know that she scribbles on her clipboard and keeps the time, but what exactly is she writing and how does she reach her verdict on whether or not you get called back for a second compatibility run. What exactly did she write about you?
Instructions: Pretend you are Techie L, supervising the mentor visit. As you read through it, write down your impressions and conclusions. Then write a few sentences detailing why you think you (the mentor) would be a good or bad fit.

..Child Reflection
Type: Form
Description: Because asking outright doesn't always work, this fun worksheet is for determining the child's impression of the mentor.
Instructions: Click Here. Save the image. Go into paint and fill it out. Save, upload, put in journal.

..Mentor Reflection
Type: Journal Entry
Length: 100+ words
Description: You have been sent a questionnaire from FactS asking about your impressions of your mentoree and the possibility of allowing him or her to share your life. This will be used to gauge compatibility.
Instructions: Answer the following questions in a few sentences.
"How would you describe your mentoree?"
"What does he/she like or dislike especially?"
"What behavioral problems do you think he/she may have?"
"How are you planning on coping with or correcting them?"
"What is your current lifestyle like?"
"Can you accomadate a child?"
"Do you have other children and how might they react?"
"How do you think other members of your household will react?"
"Why do you think you would make a good mentor?"

..Mentor Visit II
Type: Journal RP
Length: 300+ words
Prompt: Well, apparently you made a good impression because L has called you back a few weeks (or a few months) later. You have been chosen as the most suitable mentor for the child. Now for one last check to make sure there aren't any problems. The setting for this meeting will vary, but it generally addresses a special issue in the child (running away or love of water, for example) and tests the mentor's ability to handle it. The time limit varies, but it's usually longer than the first visit. Again, L will be watching but not interfering. If all goes well, you sign paperwork and are officially the child's guardian at the end of this visit.

..Chimera Visits..
To be completed during the second stage.

..PreMeeting Homework
Type: Form
Description: FactS has just created a chimera that may be compatible with your child. They are to meet in a month's time. Meanwhile, you have been sent a folder of information about the chimera so far. To make sure your kid reads it (or has it read to him/her), here's a worksheet to turn in.
Instructions: PM the mule with a request to start your chimera visits. You will be sent some information pertaining to your chimera. Whatever isn't given to you, but is on the form, you are free to make up. This allows for some level of customization. Click Here. Save image. Open in paint. Fill out. Resave. Upload. Put in journal.

..Chimera Visit I
Type: RP with a Technician
Prompt: Since many of the chimera are bizarre in appearance, it's best to familiarize the young handlers with them before they actually need to bond. The hope is that the kids will be a bit less afraid. Thus, the kids are brought to the lab to see their chimera while it's still developing in its growth pod. The chimera will be almost fully developed, and it will move and may interact with its environment, but it will not be fully conscious, much like an infant in the womb.

..Chimera Reflection
Type: Journal Entry
Length: 50+ words
Prompt: What do you think of your chimera? That's what FactS wants to know, so they asked you to write an essay about it. (Length of the essay depends on child intelligence.)

..Chimera Visit II
Type: Journal RP
Length: 500+ words
Prompt: Maybe a few weeks or so after your first visit, FactS has decided that your chimera is grown enough to be "born". You are to be present at the time it is removed from its pod and after a quick checkup, its going home with you.

[ L ]

Name: Undisclosed
Player: NPC/CatCry
Rank: Technician
Department: Handler Care

Duties: Caring for candidates after they are brought back to Faction S and conducting Mentor visits. She may also serve as council to handlers who do not feel comfortable discussing something with their mentors.

Personality: Serious, but kind, and extremely time-concious. She is proud of her work and often given to violence when trying to motivate her colleagues to do better. Because it is often easier on the new handlers to only interact with one caretaker, she and other of her rank are under a huge amount of stress caring for multiple children.

Data: She carries a pistol loaded with rubber bullets and has spectacular aim, in case she needs to take out a Mentor Candidate. Most of the time, said pistol is used by slamming the steel barrel on the forehead of Techie R, the research guy.

[ R ]

Name: Undisclosed
Player: NPC
Rank: Head of Department
Department: Social Research
Duties: Digging up information on people, usually Mentor Candidates and orphanage owners.

Personality: When it comes to work, R is something of a one-man-tank. As departement head, he conducts all of the actual research himself and uses his force of subordinate technicians to enter random data on as many people as possible into an enormous database that he programmed himself as well as maintaining the enormous server needed to run said database. However, he tends to forget about the details, which often results in getting hit over the head with a pistol by his colleague Techie L.

Data: R is rather familiar with computers and the networking systems of the world. Once he has a few scraps of information, he can come up with anything and everything about a person, organization, or event. To date, he has suffered at least three mild concussions and leaves his workroom aproximately once every six months.
