A tiny figure moved about the edge of the graveyard, paying little attention to her surroundings. She was supposed to be patrolling, but so far her patrols had been nothing but boring, uneventful walks around the graveyard.

She scowled, grumbling to herself. "Omoa, go patrol. Omoa will you do my patrol for me? Omoa do this, Omoa do that..." She said mockingly, shaking her head. This whole thing was horribly boring, and she hated it. She could have been doing something productive, or been digging her tunnels, but no, Yakuti made her come out here and look for something that wasn't there.

"What does he expect me to do if I find a lion? Fight it? Honestly..." Her words were full of spite, a hatred for the lions, but at the same time, a bit of bitterness towards her friend Yakuti. Ever since the pups had been born, she had to not only do his patrols, but Shira's as well. Day and night, it seemed like all she did was wander around and stand guard, there was no 'Me time' left for the young ratel.

If the little badger had been paying more attention, she'd perhaps notice the wild dog, slumped lazily. Well, she would anyways, at least after she bumped right into its nose. See, Kutu had been visiting Kelello, or tried to, and not finding her, decided to just take a nap right here at the border.

Of corus,e he didn't just sit out in plain view, but just as Omoa was to go around the skull.. wham! Right in the nose. There was a yelp, and the nose of the wild dog pulled away, but perhaps he should have remembered where he was, then he wouldn't hit his head.

"Oww! " The young male whined, backing away out of the half-broken skull, it'd broken out a few extra holes with time. But then he remembered an assault on his nose, and jumped up on it, as if whatever it was wouldn't reach him. Kutu looked around, but obviously neglected to look down.

"Ouch!" Omoa squeaked, looking up with a look of horror on her face as she realized what she had run into. It was huge! Not as big as Yakuti or Shira, but still big enough to make her into lunch if he wanted to. Without making another sound, she darted into the half broken skull, hoping to avoid detection.

She had wanted to find something more exiting, but this was pushing it a little. She tried her best to slow her breathing so it wasn't so loud, but only succeeded in making a wheezing noise with each breath.

Without knowing what else to do, she curled up in the back of the skull, hoping that what ever was out there would leave so that she could go home safely.

Finally he caught movement! Buut then it vanished into the little place he'd been in moments ago. Well, it was small, right? He peered upsidedown into one of the holes. Then blinked.

Of cours,e right after he slipped and flopped onto his back quite helplessly. But not as silly as he once was, Kutu rolled onto his belly again, eyeing the contents of the skull.

"Umm.. " He swished his tail, sniffing at the badger, then pulling away, as if it would try and swipe at him. What if this was a hyena? It.. didn't look as scary as he thought they were. "What're you? "

Oh no, it was coming for her! Omoa shook with fear as its nose came near her and sniffed her, growling slightly. It sounded more like a whine, hardly intimidating, but she had to try. There was no way she could fight this thing off if it was hostile. But wait, it seemed to want to talk to her, how strange.

"I'm a ratel... What about you?" She asked suspiciously, creeping out of the skull slowly. This creature wasn't a hyena, she knew that, but what was it? It couldn't be a lion, but what else was there? What ever it was, it wasn't going to eat her, probably. That was good enough for her, so Omoa plopped herself down in front of him, staring up at him with her curious purple eyes.

He blinked as the thing whined at him, what was that supposed to be? He sat down, looking into the eye cavity of the skull untill the little creature came out It was rather.. cute, to say the least. All small and fluffy with those claws and-- umm.. claws.

"I'm a.. wild dog. " He'd spaced out for a moment in his frase, sort of.. shocked at the discovery of this new creature. Of course, whenever you found out something new, you sort of spaced out.

"Wild... Dog..." She said slowly, pondering it for a moment. "Is that like a hyena? You look kind of like a hyena, but you don't smell like one." She shook her head.

"But if you're not a hyena, why are you in the graveyard? It's only me and them that are supposed to be here." She said very matter-of-factly. "

"I dunno. I never seen a hyena. " He shrugged his shoulders. He didn't truely look foreward to it, either. Haha, little did Kutu know this was the species that blinded his sister!

"I live over there. " He motioned in the direction of the watering hole, with its bits of trees and plants, contrasting against the graveyard if seen from a different point of view.

"How can you be in the graveyard and not see a hyena?" She asked, laughing a little. The place was crawling with them, it must be very strange not to see one...

"I live that way." She said, turning and pointing her little white paw back the way she had come from. "But there's nothing to do there... Ever since my friends had their pups, I never get to play with anybody any more..." She said sadly, ears drooping slightly.

"I dunno. " He grinned as she laughed, almost as if ready to laugh at a joke himself. He wagged his tail, then blinked.

Pups? Almost subconsiously, his mind drifted away. He'd not thought about that himself, and almost for a moment, he wondered what it was like, then quickly brushed it away.

"Kutu can play wit you!"

"You will?" She asked, perking back up again. "So, you're not going to eat me, right?" She asked, just to make sure. She didn't want to be walking into a trap, but she was fairly sure that she wasn't going to be eaten.

In the back of her mind, Omoa had to wonder if Yakuti was okay with wild dogs. She had no idea that he was in fact raised by them, but all she knew was that lions were bad, right? Wild dogs weren't the same thing. Oh well, it's not like she was about to tell Yakuti about this, it wasn't his business.

"Ya! Kutu likes to play! " He nodded, puffing his chest almost as if this was something to be proud about. "No eat, noo. " He said firmly, half wondering why she'd ask that.

"Who your name? " Should he rephrase that?

"Well that's good." She said with a smile, "I don't want to be eaten." She laughed, relaxing.

"My name is Omoa, and I'm guessing that you're Kutu, right?"

"Kutu wouldn't like it either. " He shook his head quickly, clearly disliking the whole eating concept. It didn't sound neat to him at all.

"Hi Omoa! " He grinned, swishing his tail contently. It was nice to have company.
