He was watching her with an intensity that he wasn't born with. He never won in games against his siblings, and now that he was playing against someone new he hoped that he'd have a greater chance at winning. She didn't know any of the tricks he had learned. Physically he wasn't very strong, and she could probably see that. But in a game his mind could work wonders. Beating back his general innocence, his muscles tightening in preparation for the game.
"Of course I will. Haven't you ever heard of the under-lion winning the game? It'll be so COOL when I beatcha!" With this declaration the game begun, Shaji circling around his competition, looking to get at her defenseless backside to tackle her and pin her to the ground. If he tackled her when she could see him she'd probably flip him over and win instead. He had to play smart... play smart...
Poor boy wasn't smart enough to 'play smart'.

The female watched him all the time, ears pinned back as a playfully determined smirk laced her muzzle and her claws slipped back into her paws. This was just a play fight, after all and she didn't want to hurt the cub. He was just a cub after all, nothing dangerous about him.
She stood perfectly still as she watched him, craning her neck around to look at him over her shoulder as she whistled innocently. Waiting for his move. She might let him win this one if he was lucky.... ....MIGHT....

He told himself to be careful, because it was obvious that Zira was tough competition. For one, she was older and bigger then him. For another, her mind seemed to be sharper then his very claws. She had the advantage in every way, but perhaps the mental drive of Shaji's would aid him. Males didn't seem to like to lose, and though Shaji lost graciously, he was like every other male. It /sucked/ when he lost.
He continued to circle, watching her for that moment of weakness. All she needed to do was blink and he would strike, but she was tough competition. Zira seemed to never put her guard down, and though Shaji searched, he could find no weak point. So, when faced with this kind of situation, males usually tended to charge in blindly. Shaji did just that, waiting until he was behind her to pounce at her, a little laugh of delight bursting out of his lips. This was fun!

Zira just stood there, waiting for his move and as he pounced her, her back arched slightly and she twisted herself so her hind paws would touch his stomach and probably end up propelling him slightly in the air. But not high enough so he'd land and hurt himself.

He didn't think anything was wrong when Zira's back paws pushed into his stomach. For a moment he felt like he was flying, and he smiled because it was just so much fun. The landing, though, wasn't as fun as the actual flying. Landing on his side, he blinked, realizing that he was now thoroughly dirty. Daddy wasn't going to like that, and Shaji would be forced to be put through a nice and long bath.
Oh, Shaji was going to have to get some revenge for what he was going to be put through in the future. He stood up, shaking some of the dirt off of his pelt, red eyes analyzing Zira carefully. Without bending his legs and preparing himself for the next charge, he just ran at Zira, hoping to catch her somewhat off guard. He could only hope for the best.

Now he would've gotten her head on. If she hadn't spotted him out of the corner of her peripheral vision and moved out of the way just in time, however she hadn't moved her tail and felt all his cubbish weight go on top of it. But it took a while for the reaction to come before she let out a loud and suprising.
"YeeoOOOOWWWW!!!"
The exclamation was loud and suprised the female as much as it would the young male. Her body twisted and she looked at him, placing a paw on his body as to push on him slightly so she could pull her tail out from under him. She then stared at it for a second and smirked.
"Wow, did a number on my tail." She said, trying not to get too mad.

Shaji's eyes widened as he realized he had missed, and had instead landed on her tail. His ears pressed back against his head at Zira's exclamation, and immediately he was filled with guilt for hurting her. It was supposed to be a game! He wasn't supposed to actually do her any bodily harm. Irrational fears filled his mind, and he was frightened that he had snapped her tail off, or had made her bleed or be bruised!
Hurriedly he crawled off of her tail, looking thoroughly ashamed for what he had done. Bowing his head, he gazed shyly at her through the beginnings of his mane. "I-I I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to hurt you! Are you all right? It's not broken... is it?" His red eyes were glittering with the threat of tears, but he didn't cry, and instead tried to make it all better so his new friend wouldn't hate him.
"Do you want me to kiss it to make it feel better?"

((OMAHGAWD SO CUTE ^O^ heart ))
The juvenille smiled as best she could at the cub to try and reassure him, however what he said really...well...blindsided her. She sat there and stared at him for a few seconds, eyes wide before she opened her mouth and let out an intelligent.
"Wha?"
However she then shook some sense back into her before she looked at him, a nervous smile on her maw. Oh my Gods, She thought. That was so...cute! If she were any other female she probably would've started to fawn over the little males sweet behaviour. However she smirked and shook her head.
"Heh...uhh...no, no need."

(( SHAJI IS ULTIMATE CUTE. 8D Nasty -cough- Lovely little Zira agrees! ))
Piecing back together his dignity, he repeated what he had said, because obviously she hadn't heard them. "Kisses usually make 'owies' feel better, so I was wondering if I could kiss your tail to make it feel better. It is my fault it got hurt, so it's only reasonable that I should be the one to make it... feel better." His father, Ezeoha, would've highly approved of Shaji's words. Shaji's reasoning behind it was not what his father would've wanted, though. He offered a kiss in complete and total innocence. Whenever he got hurt, his father kissed the injury and it always felt a little better. He only wanted Zira to feel better.
He frowned, looking slightly disappointed that she turned him down. His guilt was genuine, and he wasn't sure it was going to go away unless he made her feel better. So, obviously he was going to have to do something else... but what? "Oh, well... if you're sure. If it starts to hurt too much I'll kiss it and make it feel better." He was glancing around, trying to find some other and more inventive method to cheering Zira up to make her forget about her injury.

The female turned her head slightly away from him, hiding the slight blush her cheeks held, dear ancestors could this kid be any more cuter? She'd never met someone so sweet and innocent, sure he was a kid, but still! Was she ever this sweet as a cub? She thought, like she was older, yet she was just a juvenille. She then gulped and turned back to him before smiling at him.
"Shaji, honestly, you're making me feel better already." She said honestly.

Shaji was sweet as a cub, and was destined to never change. When he was older he may develop some back bone, but otherwise Shaji would forever remain sweet and caring. His family would keep him safe and hopefully teach him to be a little more outspoken and independent. But that sweetness forever would reman. "Oh! I am? Well, that's good. I'm happy you're feeling better. I think I would've been sad if you remained unhappy." He gave her one of his charming smiles, the kind that just seemed to come so easily to his face.
"I think that... maybe we should play another time. You need to ... heal up. So... I'll see you later." It was clear that he still felt guilty about hurting his new friend, eyeing her shyly. "Bye. It was plenty nice meeting you. You're... uhh... wonderful." Then the sweet-natured cub turned away, and fled back to his den so he could try and make some sort of splint out of sticks and leaves for Zira to feel better with.
