..Diary Entry..
Astalia lay on her back, looking around whille holding her legs in the air. She had just woken up from a nap, and had already begun wondering what things were, curious about everything around her, reaching out to touch and feel whatever she could manage to touch and feel. She was just a baby, but in being a baby she was very intelligent and aware of everything around her.
Even when she was awake, she would dream. Well, kind of. It was one of those things where you just sort of sat there and wondered about everything around you, but in the very back of your mind you subconciously started daydreaming about things. Of course, her attention was pulled away from all of that, when she turned her head to stare wide-eyed at a stuffed teddybear.
Now, what in the world was this? Hm... Reaching out a hand, all the while wondering a thousand different things about the stuffed animal, she gently ran her small fingers over the ears and face. Soft, fuzzy... oh!--her fingers had landed on the eyes, which weren't soft but hard and glossy. What were those? Why did they feel different from the rest of it? They were eyes, but it didn't hurt to touch them? Astalia moved her hand and lightly put her finger to her own eye, lightly poking it, resulting in an outburst of cries caused from shock.
Though she quickly stopped crying, and the scenario changed, shifted, right before her eyes. The teddy bear was no longer there, but a stuffed horse was in it's place. What in the--oh... that's right... she was dreaming. All of it had just been a dream. But, wait... could you realize that you were dreaming, even while you were still asleep?
Andie, Astalia's caretaker, smiled softly and stared down at the small sleeping child, every now and then reaching down to roll the child from her stomach to her back. Andie wasn't sure why, but while Astalia was sleeping, she kept rolling onto her stomach... and that made the caretaker worry because... there was the possibility of laying face down and suffocating ones self. Or perhaps this was just Andie worrying, because she was the caretaker, afterall.
