Mashaka was not, too say the least, in the best of moods. The weather was pleasant enough, albeit a little on the cool side. A light breeze ruffled the leaves and grasses. The sun was going down now, and the sky went purple as the sun gradually disappeared on the horizon. It was almost dark. Mashaka sat under a gnarled old tree with low-hanging branches. He was hunched over and brooding, head low, staring at the ground.
If you were to ask him what was wrong at this moment, he probably would have told you to go away, except in stronger words. But even if Mashaka weren't the snide and withdrawn sort, he wouldn't have been able to put his feelings into words. He didn't know the words for it. He was sure it was familiar, but he couldn't give it a name. Thus, he resorted to sitting, alone, bitter in silence.

It was, at best, a very sour night for the only other inhabitant in the direct area around the other cheetah, as the lordly lord of his spots; Takasika, had finally made it to a wonderful patch of no where - but far away from whatever had hit him previously, his side ached, smarted, and shown a pretty colour that definitally was not his own. It pleased him not, and reminded him that he will one day search and locate the runt that barrelled him.
Taking to the old, gnarled tree, he flopped down next to it, not giving the other body any heed momentarily as he wheezed lightly, whining internally to whatever gods were around as to how annoying it was. Upon opening his honey coloured eyes, the took in the dark hued cheetah - which he swore he hadn't seen before - and he made a note to atleast present himself, so no other accidents would occur.
"Mighty horrible day, one would say." was all he could think about, though.

At first, Mashaka did not notice the approaching figure either, he was too busy looking very intently at his own paws. But when the younger male sat beside him, Mashaka became very aware of the company. He scowled. He was never really the social type, but this was a mood in which he was genuinely not fond of the idea of having to talk to someone. Soon, he knew, soon this individual would be pestering him, asking him questions, maybe... god forbid... wanting to play. Mashaka shuddered. He was certainly in no mood for games.
He was about to tell the kid to go piss off when the kid spoke first. Mashaka was intrigued. Someone was as bitter as him on this day? Well... misery does love company, even if Shaka didn't. He decided to put up with the boy just a little longer. In response to the comment, Mashaka shrugged and muttered, "I'm gonna have to agree with you on that one." He kicked at a rock and watched it go rolling into the grass and disappear. He hoped it got shattered by some passing wilderbeast's hoof, and he didn't even know why.

A naturally content creature most of the time, this was definitally one of the nights of a long week whereas the teenage cheetah just didn't feel like giving a damn - as he mostly did when he had some form of wound on or in him. He was a bit of a whiny teenager, and he knew this - and would milk it when he knew that he could.
At first, although - he did not expect the other, more adult cheetah to actually answer his childish snipping about the day - for the wine hued adult was older than him, and thus, immediately more wiser.. or that's what he thought anyways. But upon when he answered in such a lucid form, the honey shaded eyes of the teenager flashed up to the form near him once more, in a sense of awe and thankfulness that the other wasn't just going to walk off, attack him or worse yet - ignore him completely.
Wheezing out slightly, he watched the rock, and also hoped that some poor thing's demise would come from it; but when it just skittered off like every normal other rock kicked on a basis, he frowned a bit in disappointment. "Normally one would state something like 'Atleast it's night and that means that this horrible day is over and tomorrow will be so much better!' but it seems rather redundant because tomorrow just looks as bleek as yesterday." flowed out of his maw suddenly, he nodded to himself as he finished, thinking that it sounded right.

For a little while, Mashaka just sat silently and stared at the rock, the rock which had disapponted him by not bringing about any destruction. After glaring at the rock for sometime, he finally sighed and turned his attentions back to the teen. Yes, he did recognize the teen as a little whiney now... perhaps "pathetic" was the word for it. But as of right now he was really too gloomy to care, and too exhausted inside to make an effort to pointed out. He listened to the younger cheetah's pessimistic observation, then snorted and replied, "No hope for the hopeless, eh kiddo?" He chuckled then, but there was no humor in it, indeed no amusement.
He rolled his shoulders a bit and tried to relax, but failed. No matter how he sat he still felt stiff and tense. He looked back at the kid. He didn't mind his company so much, though he wasn't sure why. Perhaps because the two of them were of the same mind at this moment in time. This is why Mashaka went ahead and did something unusual of him unless he was trying to score; he inquired as to the other cheetah's name. "So what can I call you, kid?"
