Hi everyone!

I'm looking for a Japanese beta-reader, or at least someone who knows Japanese culture well or has a good handle on Nihongo to become a beta-reader for my novel in progress, "Fires and Embers". I posted a similar ad somewhere, and it goes like this:

Quote:
So what is a BETA READER? A BETA READER is a person who reads a work of fiction with a critical eye, with the aim of improving grammar, spelling, characterization, and general style of a story prior to its release to the general public. The writer him/herself is the ALPHA READER.

Simply put, Beta Readers are persons who read a writer's work (prior to publication/submission) and point out what's wrong. It is done for FREE. Gratis. (Professional critique service is a different story)

That's what I'm looking for now: A beta reader for my novel in progress entitled "Fires and Embers". It is my second novel, and it is set in the Philippines during World War II. It tells the story of many lives including a Filipino refugee family and some Japanese and American soldiers. It starts from the first bombings, to the Bataan Death March, and the Manila Liberation. It is a war story, but with romantic elements.

I have been working on this novel for nearly two years now. My grandfather, who died last summer (2006) served as an inspiration and I am dedicating this novel to him. I really want to make it my best, which is why I need a fresh pair of eyes to look over what I have.

If you're interested, I can send over a PDF file (partial ebook) of the first three chapters of "Fires and Embers". You can contact me by PMing me here or emailing me at gwendy730(AT)yahoo(DOT)com(DOT)ph **have to do this to prevent spam**

Thanks for reading my lengthy ad. I can't pay anything, but I'll be able to give a reader a free read.

I know World War II novels may be somewhat tough to handle, especially if you're Japanese, but the main reason I want to find Japanese beta readers is because one of my main characters is a Japanese, and will be using Nihongo from time to time (main language I used is English). I'll need someone to correct me culture-wise and language-wise.

Thanks for reading this lengthy post redface
