Contained on this page is everything you need to know to get started, from setting up your diary to your first roleplay! We also have some special goodies for new parents further down. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask the staff!

First, I'll explain a little about our Guild Forums.

Main Forum
Our main forum is a place for you to roleplay, chat, and ask questions. We have a few guidelines to help keep everyone on the same page. First, please label all roleplays with [OPEN RP] or [PRIVATE] in the topic title. You don't have to use those exact labels, just anything that will let people know if they are welcome to join or not is fine!

If you have a matter that needs staff attention, please label your topic title with "STAFF:" so we know you need us!

Aside from those simple guidelines, you can freely make threads in the forum to discuss things with other players or chatter. Just remember to follow Gaia's TOS! Also remember that our forum is viewable to the public, though only members may post.

Diaries & Journals
Here you can find logs of all the Cabbage Patch's children and their adventures! Here is also where you'll find your child's diary. More on that in the next post!

Employees Forum
This is for shop staff to plan and discuss things. If you're not a staff member, there's no need to worry about this forum at all!

Artist Central
This is the place where you post your growth forms, and also where you can go to meet the artists and learn more about them.

Roleplay Central
Sometimes, we like to organize special roleplay events, or keep track of important roleplay information! Roleplay Central is the domain of our RP Managers, and is where organized roleplays take place. Things like parties and class signups, or medical checkups. You can also find extended information on NPCs and the shop and various things related to roleplaying in general.

Diary Setup

Setting up your diary is an important first step in joining the shop. We want to make it as easy as possible for you!

To begin, you'll need to go into the Diaries & Journals subforum and make a new topic. You have a choice of calling your topic a diary or a journal, but your thread title must follow the proper format.

[@] Childname's Journal . . . . » Playername
[@] Childname's Diary . . . . » Playername

Where you replace Childname with your child's name and Playername with your Gaia username. You may use a common nickname for your child, but your Gaia username must be in the topic title.

Your diary is yours to arrange as you see fit. Your cert can be found here. Please be sure to direct-link so it updates with your growths!

If you need help with banners, or ideas for what to put in your diary, visit our Diary & Journal banners thread. There, you can find an assortment of premade banners free to use for your Cabbage Patch diary.

Multiple Children
If you have more than one Patch child, you are welcome to have them in the same diary thread, or have seperate diary threads, whatever is your preference. If you run short on space in the topic title, you can remove some of the periods. If you still run out of space, you can shorten your topic title to "Playername's Children" or something similar.

Obtaining a Cabbage or Adopting an Infant

Any of these methods may be incorporated into your plot without needing to be explicitly roleployed. In other words: you can say your character visited the Patch and obtained the information, you don't have to write a story for the events.

On Gaia or Earth: Visit Dr. Akari's lab. Pick up a cabbage or schedule a delivery. Be sure to pick up a flyer for the Liberty Center!
NPCs: Sadanobu Iijima (DNA sampling, deliveries), Ariko (information, arranging deliveries)
Off Gaia/Earth: A mysterious cabbage has appeared in your home or garden. There's no clue where it came from.

Please note that you will meed to make the two diary posts prior to the actual adoption. The "deciding to adopt" post (if you do it) should not include meeting the child or the actual adoption.

On Gaia/Earth: Visit the Nursery at the Lab, obtain information an an adoption, and proceed to adopt! Don't forget your Liberty Center flyer.
NPCs: Sisters of the White Cloth (information, arranging adoption)
Off Gaia/Earth: There are so many legends of babies being found in baskets, now it's happened to you. Someone has left an infant swaddled in blankets on your doorstep, hopefully with a note of explanation.

If none of these suggestions work for you, just talk to us and we'll work something out specific to your situation!
