Do you feel you like to keep an open mind about music, or do you tend to stick to your favorite genres or certain groups?

I'm completely open-minded... I think cos of the way I grew up... With my Dad's insatiable love of music smile I loved when he went to the store and went through music... I LOVED IT! lol... And slowly, but surely, I'm building up a CD collection to rival his own! rofl.

I love to be open minded about the music i listen to. I think it can give you a much better perspective on things, and different types of music works for many different moods that people have. So why wouldn't you be open minded. biggrin

Well, I try. I listen to many different types of music and I don't refuse to listen to a song simply because of its genre, but I have found that there are certain genres I am more prone to like and others that I only like a few select songs from. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I do get annoyed by people who only listen to "underground" music and refuse to listen to certain bands or artists because they're too mainstream. If they're good, they're good. It doesn't matter how popular they are or aren't

I personally am not open minded about music. Only certain bands appeal to me. I only listen to bands that I find on my own, or my close friends introduce me to. The bands I like have to have good rythym, really good lyrics, and at least good bass and guitar players..

I am etremely open minded about music, I'll listen to anything once. And I'd never critcize someone for liking a different genre or anything. Of course I have my favs, but all kinds of music are so great!

I'm glad that people like to keep an open mind about music, and I'm proud of you guys. I love music, working with it, listening to it, etc. I also understand why some people only work with one general area of music, because sometimes that's the only appealing thing to some people.
I'm very open and broad with music. You can find all kinds in my iPod.

sure! i'm open minded. I like to hear all kinds of different sounds from all over the world. From modern musics, to tribal songs...some are bad, some are good, some can really shakes you to the core. Damn! I love when i feel that... whee

I'm pretty open to most types of music and listen to a lot of different genres. I either like the song or not and the genre doesn't really mean much to me.

I feel im pretty open-minded when it comes to music. I mean all of my friends like something different. Sure I have my own interests and tastes, but it also depends upon the mood you are in as to what I will listen to at the moment. I enjoy listening to all different types of music from around the world. I have found that arabic music is really good music to dance to. It has a certain beat to it and you feel that you just have to move when it comes on

I think i'm fairly open-minded when it comes to music- though i have to say, i have gotten so sick of rap music it's unbelievable.
i used to listen to rap and r and b and hip hop a LOT. but lately rap has turned to crap on a stick, and if i have to see kanye's big head one more time, i might slap my t.v.
but i like bach and beethoven, coldplay and cake, the smashing pumpkins and seether. i like shania twain and korn, and of course 30 seconds to mars, lol. i pretty much like everything - except britney spears. but i do like christina aguilera. you have to respect a voice like that , even if the owner is a ******** up person. anyway-
yeah. i like a lotta s**t, lol. mrgreen

I think I'm open minded enough to listen to the music first before deciding whether I like it or not. That counts, right? 0_o I don't have a particular genre I stick to, so if it sounds good to me then, anything goes.

I would have to say that I'm pretty open to the kinds of music I listen to. It also depends on what kind of mood I'm in or what I'm doing on what I listen to.

yeh am pretty openminded when it comes to music, if i like a song i like, simple as that i dont care what "window" it falls under, I have a massive collection of cds and everything from Johnny Cash to Metallica to Eminem!! xd
