First a bit of background information:
I started menstruating when I was 11 or 12 (can't remember) and I am 17 now. My period has always been irregular. Then, in October, it started to become almost regular, coming every month about every 34 days. I had a period in January (around the 12th) so that meant that my period this month was due on the 16th. It hasn't come yet, but I have been getting cramps (I always get horrible cramps) but instead of being continuous, it'll be about 30 seconds of pain then it will stop and come back at random times a few times a day. This started yesterday. I also have discharge (which usually tells me a period is coming) but I have had it for a little longer than usual without starting to bleed. I want to know if my period will start soon, or do I have to worry about it starting at a time where I cannot run to the bathroom to get a pad (I don't wear tampons)?
And additionally, there is NO possible way that I am pregnant.

We have no way to tell you when your period will come. If there are times when you can't get up to go to the bathroom, such as work or school, you might want to put on a pad before just in case. That's about as good as you can do.

okay, basically I was just wondering if by the symptoms it was likely to come soon. I don't need to know exactly when (no one can tell me that).
When I am 18 I am going to get on birth control to regulate it.

It's possible that the symptoms mean you will get it soon, but it certainly isn't a guarantee.
If you want birth control to regulate it, you should be able to get it now. Teens can get on birth control even if they don't have money, health insurance, or their parents' permission. Just make sure you look through the side effects or talk them over with your ob-gyn.

Its easier to get it once I turn 18 though because I turn 18 right before the school year ends, and since I live at college, I want a gynecologist near home rather than finding one over here.
Summer just happens to correspond to me turning 18 (almost)

Alright, after a few days of very bad cramps, I have finally started bleeding. I never thought I would be happy for my period to start, but, yay!
