Macromedia Fireworks costs $250 and it's probably the best/funnest program I've ever used. .___.; I was extremely disappointed when I found out.

Anyone have suggestions on other [cheapperrrr] programs I could use that are just as good Macromedia Fireworks?

you could always download a copy illegally... eek it is very possible.
