Day come full circle. It was sunset again, and the sky was bleeding out onto the sands. It would be time to think about looking out for some food- but perhaps with a somewhat revised plan, so her paths did not cross with another firekin hunting. That had been rather faulty of her, and No quietly scolded herself for the third time over doing such a thing.

She’d need to meet up with Kidondo as well. She had not seen him since the meeting with the rest of the pride, and she couldn’t help wonder if he had seemed pale. Had something happened? She couldn’t imagine the pride knew about them yet. Surely that old man would have stormed up here to give some sort of thrashing if it were. The lioness licked back her whiskers, and crossed her paws on the sun splattered rock.

She was rather high up on the cliffside, inspired mostly because of Kaanga’s knack [or lack of a knack] of climbing. She was mostly unnoticed- and she could watched what it was people were doing from up here. And as somewhat covert as her motives could have been... she was actually studying. What made a firekin a firekin- and how was she to emulate that?

Hail Mary, hail god; why was this walk turning into a full blown work-out; the once flat trot turning into a muscle rippling climb. Her nose burned with smells, crossing every angle as the winds picked up angrily, testing the predators, and their prey, and questioning their will to hunt at such late hours. Above, where No sat fondling the crowd beneath her, and even beyond the black cats gaze was a setting sun, becoming the rising moon and further more, nightfall.

It always was that when that milky orb fixed itself in the darkened sky, that the land grew cool, peaceful, and rather habitable. Many times this was when soon-to-be slaves would lurk into the ocean of gold, if not just passing through to hunt; the land quite easily chartable.

But it was not her night to hunt, or stalk the outsiders, but to do just what No intended to; or half of what she was doing, which was think. The day had passed easily on Kijinga, and the night would do her well if she just managed to climb up the face, plant her hind quarters against the solid rock above, and watch the commotion that would spur as the herds of every prey imaginable found the safe haven of slumber.

She would be able to handle this, with some aggravation, and stumbled upon the curved roof of the cliff, with eyes lingering on the shadow that claimed it. She watched, quietly, as the dark figure grazed the lands with even darker eyes. Pure black, she thought, there was no way for her to tell if this was part of the cult—the bloods, or if she be just another outsider, doing what they did best.

Her body approached, fearless of this black feline, and rested on her rump just beside it. ‘Lovely. Isn’t it.’ Her toes clenched against the rock surface, only allowing a passive glance to the lion, a mind gripping smile teasing the very ends of her lips.

The black cat had been so focused watching the tiny individual, that when she had heard the crumbling of rocks below she had assumed it to be another animal. Perhaps a snake, hollowing out its den? Or a vulture roosting. She had not paid it anymore mind then that; so when the female finally did speak, it woke up the lioness from her thoughts, and she turned with a hike of surprise.

It was a firekin- not that she had expected it not to be. A lady, although unlike Azula, not with cubs. She didn’t seem old like Ripuka either- but unable to determine an age or standing, she resumed the slave posture and took a few sidesteps to the side. But- to test the water; after she moved, she raised her head back up.

“It is, my lady,” No hummed. And it was- truly. The red and pink and orange rippled over the sparce clouds like waves. When she had been a cub- she sometimes imagined herself to be standing on a high mountain- and down below was a great bay with little white islands. It got her dizzy. "I don't think there are many sights quite like it."
