Hey everyone!

I've got a letter from my 'Japanese aunt'.
She sent me a gift for Hinamatsuri, allong with a small letter.
I've managed to translate most of it, but I'm wondering if someone could check it for me, and uncover the last piece xD

The letter:

What I made out:

Dear Ran,
How are you?
In Japan, the 3rd of Match is Hinamatsuri.
Wishing that girls are brought up well.
We celebrate this with all sorts of dolls.
おおし*。あられ。 おもちもでべます
蘭ちゃんにプレンセントします
Please enjoy this present from Japan,
Sweet candy
Tamiko

*I'm not sure if this said Ooshi, the first definately is an o, but the second looks like an o without the stroke on it's right...
Thank you in advance for your help!

おおし*。あられ。 おもちもでべます
蘭ちゃんにプレンセントします

umm
1. it could be in in a curtain ben. like hiroshima ben is a bit diffrent from tokyo ben. like they talk a bit differently..
2. Ive noticed that で in the ones i copied is suppose to be da or ta

おおし*。あられ。we also eat rice cakes.* I think thats what she tried to say because おもち is rice cake. but if she wanted to say we also eat rice cakes she would have had to say omochi mo tabemasu.

so like

" Dear ran, how are you?
In Japan, the 3rd march is hinamatsuri
Wishing that the girl is brought up well ( or girls in your translation)
We decorate with dolls
we celebrate
おおし*。あられ we also eat rice cakes
We will give you a present ran
please remember Japan* or please think of Japan
Sweet candy
tamiko "

thats what I got from reading it. I could ask my mom but she would think Im weird and tell me never to go on here crying

okay. here's my stab at translating this (no translator used. only word translations.):

"To Ran,
Are you doing well?
In Japan, March 3rd is Hinamatsuri -
wishing that Little girls grow up well.
with dolls, and celebrations.
eating mochi and cookies.
I'm giving you a present, Ran.
Please remeber Japan.
Really sweet candy.
Tamiko."

i think you mis-transliterated it, or read some of it wrong... but that's just my opinion. also, is your 'aunt' from Kyoto or somewhere other than Tokyo?

i didnt use a translator.

but like I think Megaman2040 is also trying to state what i stated before.

Kyoto ad Tokyo have different dialects or different ways of saying stuff. Same with Hiroshima. * I talk about hiroshima a lot because my mom is from Hiroshima and I lived there.**

like hiroshimaben : Taigi
would equal : nemutai

both meaning im tired/sleepy

That's what I got!!!

I think we're using the same one. It's wrong sometimes though because it doesn't have slang...
