Night time- but it was unnaturally bright. He could feel it like a coolness on his skin and it made him restless. And the restlessness made his leg ache.

He couldn’t understand why she was still dragging her heels about this. She’d never complained before when they had drifted. Was she hurt and not telling him? That too, made him restless. As much as he liked to be the savvy fellow, he was well aware that there were a lot of things Améh did not talk about. She liked to keep quiet and wait things out. And while that might have been fine for her, he was growing intolerably anxious over what exactly she was waiting around for.

But with a gruff snort, the old lion shifted his head on his paw. She wasn’t waking up, anyways, although he’d ‘accidently’ bumped her twice. Which made him realize she was either actually sleeping, or pretending to sleep. She found ways of dodging questions when she wanted to.

She meant well though- and Phib had never known her not to. So for her benefit, he only complained half the day. He thought that was a rather noble compromise. Sneakily- he slapped her on the side with his tail. She shifted, the yellow marks on her shoulders bouncing once, but still did not seem interested in "waking" up.

"I know you're not sleeping." He accused haphazardly.

"I would be if you were not to be waking me," Ameh responded sleepily. "So restless! One would think it would be a good night for sleeping."
