I discovered this theory/idea/thought a little while ago, and have since developed quite a bit on it...

Even though they never actually say it outright, isn't the Suiken(Drunken Fist)actually a Kekkei Genkai?

Think about it: both are "...A naturally-occurring ability that can't be learned, taught, or copied", and although it needs to be "activated", doesn't the Mangekyo Sharingan have requirements as well? (As stated by Itachi, you need to kill your best friend...remember?)

Now, since we've never even HEARD of Rock Lee's parents(to such an extent that many people neglect the topic), it's possible that Rock Lee's parents might have (had) the same "condition" as well. Therefore, like a Kekkei Genkai, this ability could be passed down! And in the case it's a randomly-occurring thing having nothing to do with genetics? That still doesn't say much, because it probably has something to do with coincidences in how the DNA of the person is made up, just like Kekkei Genkai(but more "random").

Another thing strikes me as interesting: if someone were to hone their abilities with this, would they be able to stay fully aware of their actions? Actually, would they even be able to train and get used to it to such the extent of being able to activate it at will? (As stated by Gai)you're extremely unpredictable(and as stated by Kimimaro, possibly faster? But maybe he just wasn't used to fighting someone like that, so it only appeared that way...)at the cost of not being "aware". So, yeah, normally you attack anyone or anything, regardless of the importance. However, if you COULD train it so that weakness eventually diminishes, you could have the unpredictability(and the speed?)without worrying about harming anything. And therefore, a very good ability to have. Sounds like a Kekkei Genkai to me.

Actually, I can already see a counter-argument: "Isn't the Suiken just a "fighting style" and therefore not technically an "ability"?" Sort of: the Suiken(as mentioned by Gai, I think)performs better when you have a good knowledge of Taijutsu. However, isn't the Sharingan the same way with "outside" Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, and Taijutsu? If an Uchiha were fighting a non-ninja swordsman who was way faster than them, the Sharingan would be utterly useless.

Right now I'm pretty excited about this "discovery"(also because, think about it, it can be used in shipping), so I'd like it if you shared your thoughts as well. And if some things sounded wierd or obvious, it's because I was looking at this from the point of if it was really a Kekkei Genkai in Naruto, not what it is in real life(because even though one was based off of the other, they're still two separate things, just like how there are acrobatics in real life but not the ninjas you see in Naruto...)

I have a new possibiltiy that i havent heard before: what if kisame is a jinchuuriki? Reasons:
-He looks like a shark (like Naruto has whiskers etc.)
-His name means "demon shark"
-He has heaps of chakra
-He's hated in his home village (though most crimimals are)
One question would be why he's in akatsuki if he has a demon in him. Well, either kisame doesn't know, or he knows but the akatsuki don't, or the akatsuki do know and kisame doesn't know they know, but they're waiting till they get the other demons so they can take out kisame's and do them in order. Or maybe kisame is willing to give up his demon when he has to, but they've found a way to keep him alive when they remove it.

This is just a random idea of course, it might not be true. It could have been proven wrong for all i know, i'm not exactly up to date with the manga. If it has been proven wrong, or if you have evidence for or against this theory, please tell me! mrgreen
