Orange paws curled across a tree branch as the small pup snoozed gently on the ground. He was normally laid back, but it was unbelievable that there was enough hours in the day for him to sleep almost constantly, but there was also the added bonus of that he was a pup and needed more sleep anyway. But that didn't excuse the fact that even in the middle of the day he was able to sleep like a rock better than his siblings as they were the ones running around still awake.

Thoughts swirled through his brain, mostly incoherent things that every pup saw and thought of at some point in their small lives. He was no different, but his thoughts weren't the innocent drabble of young minds. No.... demonic thoughts gilded in darkness, blood and fangs, the wicked grin of one steeped in destruction.

Fenuku's mind was swirling with thoughts that do well to frighten most others. This was where he lived every moment of his life, the darkness hidden behind a mask made of glass.

While Fenuku slumbered with his paws curled around a fallen, tattered branch, Dax nestled back to back aside him although, for him, sleep never did come easy and especially during the middle of the day. His mind was split as the constant internal battle between light and dark, ruthlessness and chivalry plauged his heart. Even as a pup, it was more than evident that Dax was far from "normal" as his sudden spiteful and lust for conflict could take hold of him and transform him into a cold, brutish wolf whose natures were mirrored like those that his uncle, Damu had learned to vanquish. But even he still fought his demons on occasion and, as for Dax, the battle was no where in sight of ever ceasing.

It was effortless except for one factor that seemed to have a rather odd effect on him.

Bindi.

The young, blonde wolfess whom he had saved along with his fathers help seemed to tug at his heart strings. Even when he could feel the darkness consuming him, blinding him to the light and forging himself into a voracious and unstoppable beast, by remembering her kindness and being in her presence it was as if his inner light- his good nature much like his fathers, could overcome even the deepest and darkest of evil that pulsed through his small, wolfish veins.

Lying his head upon his crossed forepaws, Dax snorted a sharp breath as, without her presence and for the moment no thought could contain his suffering and despair, he could feel his inner self that wrothed great pain upon his soul take the stage.

"Fenuku," he called, his voice stern and dripping with sheer malice while a sly, almost demonic grin spread across his maw. Glancing to the side with his icy, almost steel blue eyes narrowed towards his brother, Dax nudged against him. "Do we got plans for today?" He inquired, a pearly white smile adorning his maw as his ears perked upwards.

Dax was restless. If anything, his small mind was reveling in thoughts and ideas on how to make a day more productive than sleeping.

"None unless you want to make them." darkness spoke straight from Fenuku's muzzle as he cracked a green eye for a moment.

Unlike his brother, Fenuku was often more laid back and simple than he was gruff and ruthless. There was a glass mask that was held up in front of his orange and chocolate face, keeping hidden the demon that scraped it's claws on the other side and yowled. It was a thin boundary that often got broken but only one of the two personalities knew that it existed at all, only one of them knew how to traipse to and fro across it. And that one was the most dangerous.

Blinking his eyes as they slowly started to glaze over, the other personality slid back into place and the pup lifted himself up, shaking his shoulders for a split second before his eyes half lidded and his body relaxed. The stoner had returned, the only one that knew not what he was, that didn't know the darkness that constantly scratched at the surface, and yet he had known it all along.

"S'up bro?" He asked as if he'd never even heard Dax speak to him at all, glazed and bleary eyes turning to him with their usual listless uncare. Fenuku lifted his head and sniffed at the air, something inside of him was hungry. "When's the last time we ate yo?"

As his jet, black ears perked upwards to the darkness that abided within his brother, Dax let a malicious and devious grin take hold of his maw with a wide display. "We're behind on schedule," he commented, flicking his tail across the ground as he rose up onto his paws and situated himself upon his haunches.

The icy, blue orbs of the young pup were captivating but could also install fear into the hearts of those who knew him not. Unlike Fen, Dax was split between two personalities whose overall composure and capability to harness great darkness and twisted evil was mild compared to his chocolate and orange pelted sibling. For the ebony and white swirled male, there was no mask that decived those around him as, most of the time, his intentions were clear and raw. His internal battle that surged within him never ceased and the darkness was not contained nor did his inner demons solace and howl their shrill cries of terror nor scratch at his mind from the other side- they were ever present and their presence could easily manifest themselves with no interferance nor blockades that could contain him. They were the emotions and deepest feelings, thoughts and recollections that lurked at the back of his mind and, eventually consumed him.

It was only a matter of time until the darkness would consume his light within his soul.

He didn't mind at all at his brother's duo and split personality as well. It made him feel somewhat normal within the family as he and Fen stuck together along with Eiros and Vashti as a team. The family wasn't segregated or split-no, each individual displayed more than enough love and affection but, for Dax, it was hard to recognize love or to see himself as an equal. He was either below them or high above them- never in the middle nor too far from either category.

"Hours," he replied somewhat coldly, as a small snarl played across his maw. Stumbling up to all fours once again, Dax began to trail towards the small deer trail that weaved alongside the river. Jaxom and Faile had kept them well fed and always supplied more than enough food but there was something about catching his own meals that seemed to satisfy his appetite more fully.

"Let's go."

At his brother's simple response, which was normal considering how Dax often was, Fenuku picked his body up and followed his brother loyaly. Every bone in Fen's body was made to be a pure killing machine, or at least one day it would be. He had grown from a small little wolf into a still small but muscle bound pup. When his eyes would flick about, he would find things hidden in the trees and grass that others wouldn't, aided by Ta's ability to tell dark from light and to pick things out as if they were glowing flourescent in the sunlight or moonlight.

That was how he lived. Despite not really knowing that there were two of him, Fen lived quite well and prospered from the darkness that paced on the opposite side of him beyond that glass. The demon within him didn't want him to fail, didn't allow for there to be such a thing as failure in it's life. For that's all the 'stoner pup' was to Ta, nothing but a pathetic failure steeped in idiocy that he had to take care of.

Little did he know that the stoner on the other side of the glass, who's green eyes peered forward like beacons in the pitch black of night, knew. That he knew what was going on, yet at the same time he didn't. How was it possible, how did it happen? Simple, he was able to differentiate through dreams what actually happened during the day. If he had known about Ta's ability to take ovef when he actually did, then the odds were extremely good that Ta wouldn't even be able to help him.

That said, as he trotted along at his brother's flank, Fen's eyes darted around the path they were on. It was well worn, probably from wolves more than other animals, but that didn't mean that those animals didn't trot across the boundaries from time to time. So he knew when he smelled the rabbit that it was one of the few sorry animals that chose the short cut to it's death unwisely.

Stopping in his tracks and lifting his nose, Fen glanced over at Dax out of his green eye and chuffed lightly, letting him know that he smelled what his brother had probably picked up long ago.
