Merit and Demerits with real punishments and rewards. And not just individually, having the individual merits and demerits also decide things like honor flight helps a lot. And really talk up how important things like honor flight and honor cadet are. I have also found that enthusiatic and motivated staff helps a lot. A positive staff that is happy to be there will automatically make the cadets more motivated (and the opposite happening with a downer staff). Organization (or at least the appearance of) is something that helps, it the staff looks like they are undercontrol then the cadets will tend to be more motivated. Fun classes with enthusiastic teachers and interactive leadership/teambuilding games.

i use corpral punishment teaches the team to correct each other and enhances team work. if the problem is too big i will take the cadet aside and correct them in private not to embarass them but if they can't stay quiet we march and do facing move ments. i will not drop them into pussh ups or nothing like that. my instrucers say its not aloud. im comander of the un armed drill team at my school and a color guard team and this works well with them. i will praise them for their good work and point out outstanding cadets. i teach them to be a good leader first u must be a good follower.

During Boot Camp, it was really tough because I was having stomach problems.. and I just figured out why... -.-
But I didn't know then so my stomach would give them sharp pains when we were doing the PT and everything, so I asked our Companies CC if he could keep everyone motivated and I went around telling people in my company that we had to be really motivated during the run, because if everyone finished it, we'd get the GI Highway taken away,
and they really didn't want to see me in pain..
And so I started the motivation a quarter of the mile in because my stomach was really starting to bug me, so I just started shouting out and people were joining in and I nodded at my CC because he was looking at me, as if he were asking through eyes if I was fine, and he started a cadance after he nodded back.
And so I really got into that and we were on another companies trail and everything, and I finished it.
But you know when you run soooo much you start feeling a sort of bloody taste in the back of your mouth? I had that sooo bad, I was coughing after trying to see if anything would come out, and they were like, "ARE YOU OK?!?!" I said yea...

But I mean, it's just how much YOU alone get into it and other people will join in! So what if some people don't wanna hear it..
Other people will join in and then you'll be really motivated and pumped! It's awesome! and you can run for hours after it feels like! It's awesome!

I find cadences always help when marching or double timing, it gets them motivated, and helps speed up the time they hav to run for
