Hello, and welcome to the guild. ^_^ Before you start posting (and preferable before you apply to join), I ask that you please read the rules. You can PM me or a "crew" member if you have any questions.

1.) Please treat myself, the "crew" and the other guild members courteously. Do not insult, ridicule, or otherwise talk down to anyone else in this guild. Doing so is a ban-able offence.

2.) Please keep profanity and the like to a minimum. There will be younger people in this guild, so all conversation should be kept appropriate for younger-aged people. Try to keep things PG-13 or milder.

3.) Please do not talk entirely in "l337-speak" or "chatspeak." An occasional word or sentence is okay, but please use proper sentences (preferably with punctuation) for the most part. I'm not saying you must always speak perfect English, I just don't want all the posts to look like this:
I R t3h 1337z0rz!
d00d harry potter is t3h r0x0rz how r u guys ne1 hear nething ab0ut teh 6 b00k y3t its g0nna be gr8

It's annoying. stare

4.) Keep Discussion in the Discussion Threads and RP in the RP Threads. Do not post in RP format in the discussion threads. The only exception is the original "semi"-roleplay Hog's Head thread. This thread is neither truely a discussion nor an RP thread. It is more like an RP-ish version of the Official Off-topic Thread thread...but with booze...

5.) Please do not post pictures directly in the forum. If you have an interesting picture you'd like to share, unless it's a very small picture, please post a link to it rather than posting the picture itself. Too many pictures can slow things down considerably, and make things very difficult for people like myself who have crappy dial-up connections. The only exceptions to this rule are sigs (of course), and the title pictures in the fist post of some of the threads.

6.) Please keep direct quoting of other users to a minimum. This eats up bandwidth, and can also slow things down considerably. Please don't stack more than 4 quotes in any one post.

Myself and the "crew" reserve the right to edit/delete posts which break the rules stated above. We also reserve the right to ban, without warning, anyone who breaks the rules. In most cases rule-breakers will be warned once before being banned, but in some extreme cases they may not be.

Thank you for reading the rules. If you have any questions, or you wish to report a problem (such as harassment by another guild member), please refer to the Guild Staff Offices.

"Casual" Role Play System

I know that some people in this guild would be interested in starting an RP, so I thought I might introduce one. However, this is not your traditional serious RP. I figure there are already enough places one could go to do some serious, plot-driven Harry Potter Role Play, so I thought I might start something different.

I thought I might start something more casual. In most RPs, there is a serious plot, and only people who are devoted to checking in and playing every day can really keep up. This, however, is meant to be light-hearted, and most likely more humor oriented, like what we have going in the Hog's Head thread. The only real difference is that it will be a bit more structured. People will be able to officially create characters, or play as actual characters from the book. Also, different threads will represent different locations.

The Basics

Thread Set-up

Each thread will represent a different location. Anyone is welcome to create a new RP thread. In order to avoid the creation of repeted threads, however, I ask that you PM me with the following information before creating a new RP thread:

Thread Name:
Brief Description:

Once I OK your topic, you may create the thread. The first post in the thread should be a description of the area.

Character Creation

You must create a character to join the RP. Even if you are RPing as yourself, you still have to fill out the character creation form. To create a character, go to the Official RP Character Creation Thread and follow the instructions.

You may create your own character, or RP as one of the existing characters from the books. However! If you are playing as an existing character and you do not post in the guild for 30 days or more, you will lose your character. Once this happens, someone else may claim the character as their own RP personality.

About "Casual" RP

Casual RP is not meant to be taken too seriously. It is purely for amusement, and will be primarily comedy-based. There is no real plot, no killing, no battles, etc. It is simply meant to be a light-hearted alternative way for guild members to interact with one another. I made it this way specifically so that it would be easy for anyone to join or drop out of the RP at any time should they wish to. If you have any specific questions about this, please PM me. (If I get enough questions, maybe I'll even create a FAQ. *Gasp!* Oh Em Gee!)

Rules:

1. No cybering.
2. No excessive swearing.
3. You cannot kill another person's character
4. You must create a character to post in the RP threads. Otherwise, your posts will be deleted. (You may post in the other threads without creating a character)
5. Keep discussion to the discussion threads, and RP to the RP threads.
6. FOLLOW THE GUILD RULES
7. Should any dispute or harassment occur, please contact myself or one of the other "crew" members to help resolve the situation.

Please post any questions in the "Guild Staff Offices" forum.
