Ieshia loped along the river, her toes menuvering carefully alone the frost and ice and covered the ground. Winter was in full swing and the trees were completely bare, even snow covered. And the cold was alive and biting. She was glad for her thick coat of fur, but that didn't stop her from feeling the chill, especially when hit by the wind. But despite everything she wore a smile. For each day was different and brought new surprises. This was another day that would run its own course, completely different from yesterday. And she was looking forward to it.

Ah, winter. A wonderful time of year. Sure, it was cold- but the woodlands were bright and sparkling with the snow and ice of the season.

His head up high, Rafe scanned the area, vibrant golden eyes taking in the scenery. Tail slowly wagging behind him, Rafe trotted through the icy forest without a care in the world. A joyful new day awaited him, with more adventure and knowledge to take in. Heading for the river, the young male stared ahead of him, watching his foggy breath, blown away with the chilling wind as he exhaled.
But the cold, did not, by any means, prevent Rafe from catching the nearby scent of another. And with that, Rafe picked up his pace, but tried his best to stay low. As a lone wolf, he'd learned that it was always best to proceed with caution- and expect anything.

Ieshia knew that, logically, there were always reasons for her to be careful. But she was also the type to believe in people, who knew there was good in everyone. So being friendly was as natural to her as breathing. So when she noticed Rafe-how could you not notice, with fur of that purple hue?- she didn't bat an eyelash. Instead she turned with a warm smile and headed in his direction, her black tail lifted not out of rank, but out of self-confidence. When she finally drew near she offered a greeting, "Hello there."

Well, yeah, purple wasn't very hard to notice when it was up against pure white snow, and bare branches of plants and trees... but Rafe had never really thought of that.

As Rafe watched the red and black wolf approach, he kept his low position, and drew his black-tipped ears down against his skull. He had no intentions of appearing as a threat, but he wanted merely, to, yet still- remain cautious until he felt that the other posed no threat.
And it was only a few moments before he did, indeed, know that the female had only kind intentions. The purple male stood tall, slowly, and perked his ears to her greeting as he monitored her stance- she had her tail lifted high, but it didn't seem to be out of dominance. All was safe, and, assured of this, Rafe relaxed his tense mind.
After these few moments of unsure silence, Rafe cheerfully met her greeting with a simple one of his own, "Hello!"

At first Ieshia wondered if he was going to respond. He seemed so tense! But finally he seemed to loosen up and even offered a hello in return. Her smile widened a little , her black ears quivering as they perked forward, "I'm Ieshia...what're you doing around in these parts?" Her question was out of meer curiousity and companionship. The tone of her voice mirrored that and gave no implications that she owned list land or knew anyone who did. She was simply, as always, being friendly.

Rafe returned her friendly smile with one of his own before he responded, "Ieshia? Well then, a pleasure to meet you. My name is Rafe.” said the male, simply. "As for my reason to being here? I suppose I'm just wandering and enjoying this wonderful season." The tone of his voice, as he commented on the winter, seemed almost sarcastic- yet it wasn't meant to be. Winter was the season of Rafe's birth, and he loved it very much- it made him think of his family. Whether that was a happy thought or not, though, Rafe still had to figure out.

"I see," Ieshia murmured, her smile never fading. But it wasn't one of those childish smiles that children always worn. It was open, but very much adult. It suited her completely. "Normally not to many wolves choose to be out here alone during the winter, so I don't see as many others around," she said with a small chuckle, leaning back on her haunches until she was seated comfortably on the groud, her body relaxed and casual in stance.

"Hm, well, I'm sure most pack-goers are laying snugly in their dens, and others, evading the cold in whatever spot they can find. I, though, would much rather embrace this weather while it lasts!" Rafe sat, and took a cold, deep breath of air, shivering lightly. Though, he wasn't all that cold. "So, are you wandering, too?" he asked curiously, a slight- but warm smile, still plastered across his face.

Ieshia laughed. Well! Wasn't this a man after her own heart! "My thoughts exactly...! I'd much rather enjoy every aspect of life then let the changes bring me down, mm?" her eyes twinkled with empathy and exstacy. Not many other people saw life that way. She let out a breath, the warm air showing before her and a smile flowed warmly on her face to stay, "Yes...I'm quite the wanderer, really. Can't seem to stand staying in one place."

It'd been a while since Rafe had met a fellow wanderer, and he was glad to have found someone to talk to that he could relate with. Most wandering wolves weren't always as happy to meet others as Ieshia seemed to be. And some even wandered in groups; and this thought brought Rafe to yet another question, hopefully one that wouldn't make him sound akward for asking... "Do you wander alone? I've heard that some wolves prefer to travel in groups. I know my family used to when I was young, before they split up. They were kind of like thier own little traveling pack."

Ieshia just smiled at him, not finding his question strange at all. As a matter of fact, it was very common and she didn't blame him. "I used to," she said honestly, with a gentle swish of her black tail, "But~I've started a sort of traveling pack, as you say, with a few friends." Her eyes twinkled, showing her obvious excitement at actually having the plan set into motion.

Rafe enjoyed the company of others; but he enjoyed traveling too much to settle down in one place. At the mention of Ieshia's 'traveling pack', Rafe's mind became locked on an idea... "A traveling pack...” he mumbled to himself, quickly. His eyes lit up, perhaps with some sense of hope or enthusiasm, as he asked; "I don't mean to sound rude, but would you mind if I joined along with you and your friends? Traveling with others sounds a lot more interesting, and a lot more safe than being lone."
At the end of his sentence, Rafe's voice had a sense of nervousness, as if though he was afraid Ieshia would say 'no'- but in the back of his mind, from what he knew of the kind wolf already, he didn't really expect her to say anything short of 'yes'.

Ieshia only grinned, letting her eyes slide shut momentarily as she smiled, "Why not? The more the merrier, right?" She laughed, a nice warm sound, like water tricking over stones. Her tail wagged a little and she lifted her head with confidence, her eyes flashing with a passion. A passion for her pack and a passion for her travels. "You're more then welcome. We'd be glad to have you with us."
