Fox News decides to do its own The Daily Show (with John Stewart) with... frankly soul sapping results. The canned laughter alone depresses me.

This is not a 'lol dumb republicans' post but... okay it is a 'lol dumb republicans' post. But seriously this s**t is worse than the Daily Show's lowest points.

Discuss!

A far funnier ad for the first episode of the 1/2 Hour News Show...

I stopped watching the second Ann Coulter entered.

I stopped watching the second Ann Coulter entered.

You had to see that coming the second Rush started talking about the vice president... domokun

Sad as that video was, it was far funnier than the real deal. Glad I don't have cable. A right wing Saturday Nite Live clone would be fun to document just to screw with in years to come. You know this isn't going to last one season...

I'll avoid anything which involves Ann Coulter unless it's strictly to point out what a disgusting human being she is.

Take this achewood strip http://achewood.com/index.php?date=02212005 and replace 'Paris Hilton' with 'Ann Coulter' and Roast Beef with me and you'll get a picture of how I feel.

Everything she's said in public or print is more than enough evidence to that effect, Magnum.

The world has enough troublemakers like Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Chris Matthews and others who offer critique without meaning or resolution. They make me ashamed to have ever been associated with the republican party.

I hope that more rational thinking republicans and centrists (myself firmly entrenched in the latter) will stand up to the neo-con reactionary polices that have ruined any hope of a civil discourse in America.

Now I'll jump off the soap box and await the contrary points of view.

Since we're drifting away from the original subject, I'll throw one more log on the fire.

Even the republicans can't agree to disagree.

Seems McCain never did think much of Rumsfeld's leadership in the war in Iraq. That point of view is going to cost him access to some deep pockets...

The one ad I saw for it claimed that the show was "an equal opportunity offender" after scrolling a list of people who might be offended that consisted entirely of various permutations of the category "liberal". Which kind of illustrates that they understand the term "equal opportunity" about as well as they understand the terms "fair and balanced".

I'm totally skipping this show. I'm not even watching it to purposely piss myself off, like I sometimes do with O'Reilly.

Guys, Guys, this show has nothing to do with copying the Daily Show. NOTHING. If anything this is the first American attempt at a satire show similar to Canada's "This Hour has 22 Minutes." Hell even the title sounds familiar. I would also remind everyone this is more like Weekend Update from SNL than TDS.

The episode I watched reminded me completely of THH22M.

Either way it hardly qualifies as a satire show.

Sorry dude, I'm totally called bullshit on THAT one. Regardless or whether or not it's a decent show, or conservatively biased or not, it's TOTALLY on the air because they're trying to have their own Daily Show. Mostly because the Daily Show gets decent ratings and is popular in the US, and that most people here (the US) have never even heard of that Canadian show. Heck, even if it IS directly based on that Canadian show, it's on Fox News with the intent of having their own Daily Show.

You can call BS, but really I am seeing this as more Canada inspired, then again it may have been the episode I saw. But who cares really? If people want to watch it, let them. At least its confined to just that show rather than all of Fox News. Then again it may have worked on the Fox TV channel.

Just let them be, if it doesn't do well, it will go away. If it stays, it doesn't affect you in any real way. Unless they touched you somewhere bad, they didn't do that did they? Like that angel?

It doesn't really affect me either way. I just think it's silly to pretend that it isn't on the air because they want their own Daily Show.
