"Yeah. A hyena." Neus muttered, only half listening. His ears swivled, catching any odd sounds and warning him before something could sneak up on them. Nothing so far though... and they were close.
Good.
"You think you can find your way back home from there?" The grey male nodded to the small tree. It should be far enough out of hyena territory - no one would normally be prowling out this far. He glanced sideways at the small cub.
Friend? ... no, he didn't think so. Maybe if they met again someday...
"You should be safe, at least. No one is near as far as I can tell." Of course, he wasn't the best. But hopefully that would be enough to keep this little one safe. "Stay away from the graveyard, girl. Keep close to your mom until you can use those teeth and claws."

"I will," she said with a nod to all of Neus's instructions. "I'll be able to make it home by myself from here, thank you so much, for everything. I probably would be dead if it weren't for you. I can't thank you enough."
Zuri took a few steps away, but then stopped to look back at Neus.
"Until next time, my friend," she said with a grin before darting off to her home.
