so this guy we know set up my guitar for me when i got it. but he likes his strings kinda far from the neck so he can bend them a lot, but i think i'd like mine closer. dad told me he likes them closer cuz you can move around more freely cuz you don't have to push down as far, so i think i'll take it up to guitar center to get it adjusted. what do you think is better?

I prefer my action low too. It's just easier to play that way.

My electric guitar is a copy on an SG and has super low action. But then again I just bought a new acoustic and that has really high action... In comparison to my electric it's as high as a ******** building! But I love them both. Depends what music I'm playing really.

yeah i have an SG special and i play alot of rock and metal leads, so i'm thinking low would be better

I like the action on my electric guitars to be mostly low but on my acoustic I don't mind a higher one. After thats what I learned on so it would be easier to play electrics.

Low. Less strain on your fingers. It actually can help you play faster too, in a way.

okay i'm pretty sure my dad lowered the strings but i think they might be too low......they look like they're wearing on my pickups!!! ah i gotta do somethin, that's my baby!!!

You should learn how to play both..... that way you can play acoustic guitar too mrgreen

okay well now the strings are low and they're not wearing on the pickups anymore, but certain strings and frets are starting to sound dead.......i'm just gonna have it adjusted at a store.
