Dante's cherry locks of hair would dance about merrily as the force of the winds pushed about it. He wouldn't be able to watch the Avatar much longer as this "black hole" was created. There was truely no way for Dante to react to something at the speed of light, nor could he stop it anyway. His retinas would be saturated and Dante would now be blind. He would now have to rely on those ever so helpful wolfish ears he bore.
Dante really didn't have much to do. All he could do was hang on as the funnel of energys continued to grow. The funnel would grow so enormous that it would expand past the Avatar so that instead of waiting for the Avatar to be drawn in, it would form around him. The funnel should have had no problem pulling him apart from all angles now that he had been surrounded. Unless he intended on escaping through the "black hole", he should have been pulled down into the spiraling funnel's walls. The funnel was made of energy and the "black hole" shouldn't have effected. ( Well, hell I'm confused maybe it could effect it..but energy isn't matter..)

What followed was nothing short of an orbital bombardment worthy of a space based action movie. This particular beam was similar to the one that not only created the Avatar in the first place, but which also rearranged the arena to his will. Despite the vortex the massive outpouring of energy dispersed through the area. The intense heat and light would go beyond normal terms dealing with energy, essentially dropping the entire natural wrath of the sun on the arena. Temperatures would 'naturally' skyrocket to that of the surface of the sun and continue.

confused
As far as Dante knew, nothing had happened. The only real evidence of the heat he had gotten was the slight scent of burning flesh from the carcases that rested in the stands for those who had not made it through this spectacle.
Why won't this thing just die ?
Sitting at the pinacle of the funnel, he was in the strongest part of the funnel. This was the only reason he had ceased all of his chakra's movement from his body. Thanks to his positioning he would not take the full effect of the orbital blast. As the energy passed through the funnel's walls it would get sapped away thanks to the strong pull around Dante. Everything else ? Most likely melting or whatnot, but Dante would merely get some hot air maybe 300 something degrees.
How the Avatar was surviving so very long in the funnel without having his body sapped away was beyond Dante. He couldn't last too much longer. Every waking second the funnel would be growing stronger and stronger in search of that imense energy source.

Large sections of the Avatar had broken off and now seemed to have been consumed, but what seems to have been its torso was rather unwilling to just die. Apparently the massive beam from above, which was getting stronger as it focused itself, was aiding the Avatar by helping it keep its position and substituting the energy of the sun for that of the Avatar. Its size seemed to shrink as it tried pulling away, its form flickering as it wondered just how long this hell could persist.

Dante would merely wait. He could have possibly tried to help his vortex out by trying to use his remaining physical weapons, but without chakra to protect his body from the heat or to use Jutsu techniques it would be risky. Also lacking the use of his eyes, the smartest thing would be to just wait it out. So he would.
The funnel, had been fueled from the falling star, could run for quite a while, and now that it had gotten a taste of the Avatar it was content on devouring it entirely. Dante would merely wait.

The Avatar's form seemed to wink out entiely, disappearing from means of aura sight and visual sight. It was still there, and such was communicated to the officials by means of a radio frequency transmision by alteration of the electromagnetic spectrum. To Dante, however, it would look as though he had won, the beam from above even gradually stopping. The Avatar's actual size was decreased to an equivalent of a silver dollar and, as stated, his energy signature would be rather nonexistant. Though seeing as the majority of his energy signature matched that of the laser beam that had been falling on the arena, noticing that might not exactly be an easy thing.

Dante would know no such things. Being blinded he was merely relying on his sense of sound. With no movement there really wasn't any sound coming from the Avatar. Dante would remain in his crouched position until he was either given a reason to move or until the vortex had stopped. No matter what his mass was now, he was still in the middle of the vortex and still made of an unearthly energy. Thus, the vortex would rage on.

Yeah...the Avatar was ******** and his author didn't bother to post before he timed out. Oops. Mindblaze released the energy in the construct and it disappated harmlessly.
