You know, there is really no right answer to this, the chicken has to be there for the egg to start, but the egg starts before the chick starts to grow, so I guess it depends on how you are looking at it HAHA!

Due to the theory of natural selection of animal where we adapt to changes in the environment to best survive, I can show that the egg came first.
The ancestor of the chicken copulated and due to variation the best genes of both birds came together into one embryo and that embryo hatched with a some aspects of what today we know as a chicken This variation continued until the egg of a true chicken came about as a result of all these adaptations taking place.
