Momi-chan In the movie, it's Roger's beeper that goes off, and Mimi takes her AZT then anyway. In the play, it's Mimi's beeper that goes off, and Roger checks his, thinking it's his. I wish they had Mimi's go off in the movie. It would've made more sense. Why would you take medication when someone else was supposed to? that confused me too.

Somebody asked why Angel and Collins don't take the drug either. I really don't know...
I know AZT sort of..."holds off" the virus as much as possible (it doesn't kill it, oh no, or we'd have a cure for AZT right there), but seeing that this takes place during the AIDS epidemic, it was probably a VERY expenisive drug.
It made me wonder how they all afford it...
My guess is, maybe, because Angel and Collins developed AIDS, they gave up on the drug?
I dunno...
Back to the topic, yes, Roger is definitely HIV positive.

Back to the topic, yes, Roger is definitely HIV positive. Roger is HIV positive, true. My statement about how they could afford it is that was probably the ONLY thing Mark and Roger could afford, causing them to be so broke.I mean,Mimi takes the drug as well. She probably was only able to raise the money from the Cat Scratch club. That's my opinion of how they can afford it.That's all they CAN afford, and why they're so poor.

Back to the topic, yes, Roger is definitely HIV positive. I actually thought that AZT was only prescribed to those with HIV and not AIDS, since AZT is supposed to hold off the onset of full blown AIDS. I'm not sure though.
That would explain why Roger and Mimi took it and Collins and Angel didn't.
