Jack2634 I liked it for the new turn on anime and games, and the fact that each of the characters has their own personality. Not to mention the fact that the various settings, "The World R1", "The World R:2", and all the areas within them, have been totally freaking awesome. I liked how they had like anime, books, and games. It gave people more of a selection. If you didn't like to read, then you could play the games. I liked that.

Well, I am a big fan of MMORPG type games, and .//hack blew my mind on having a virtual reality type game like The World. I really liked the concept and the game type. I don't like overly medieval MMO's or anything of the sort, but .Hack seems to do it right with its jobs and game world.
The anime series was quite excellent as well, I liked .Hack Roots a lot more than the original series, but playing the PS2 games really added to the anime series' storylines.

I actually never really liked the manga that came out to accompany the .hack//G.U. series. The back of the first explains that the manga was changed slightly to help develop the plot more quickly, but I still hated the fact that Endrance's speech was changed to sound more evil, they gave Haseo Rikku's thong, the battle between Endrance and Haseo started not in the arena, but outside after Endrance mocked him, Bordeaux was infected and defeated within the first twenty or so pages, and other various things. It was in NO WAY similar to the games at all.

I got into .hack after I borrowed a friend's copy of .hack//Infection. After that, I got into SIGN, the Legend of the Twilight manga, and then I fell out of it. A few weeks ago, I remembered how awesome .hack//SIGN was, and then looked to see what was up. I was extremely surprised to see G.U., as well as how different it looked. However, the only thing I didn't like about .hack//Roots was Tabby.

I think .hack//SIGN was one of the most underrated .hacks out there. It never really caught on because of its limited broadcast, and the really was no hope if you missed an episode. I myself saw Tsukasa get Data Drained before ever obtaining the Guardian. It was one of those undiscovered anime.
