When the ambulance arrived and the doctors had burst into the house Jareth quickly explained the situation. "So, there was a knock on the door, the stranger was standing there... By the way, was he alive when you opened the door?" Jareth was silent for a minute as he recalled the memory. The man's eyes had seemed very much alive. "I- I'm not sure." At that moment Jareth felt a hand grip his upper arm. The doctors face paled as he stared over Jareth's shoulder. "Sem if this is a joke it's not funny." Said Jareth sounding more confident than he felt. The hand gripped tighter and the doctor passed out from pure fear. Jareth looked over his shoulder.

The stranger stared back with a penetrating smile. Jareth practically stumbled over the unconscious form of the paramedic with shock and terror. The ice-blue eyes regarded this action with amusement and the unerving grin became wider. Jareth had to do a double-take and actually rubbed his eyes to see if he was dreaming. If anything, it made the image all the more clear. Blissfully unaware of Jareth's bewilderment, the man silently bent down to pick up his fedora and brush the dust off it. He did not even seem bothered by the puddle of his own blood it had been lying in. In fact, he did not seem at all fazed when he realised the uncomfortable sensation in his back was being caused by a dagger. He simply plucked it out and tossed it aside. Jareth was lost for words - the stranger was not only alive, but actually fussing over his appearence? What was going on?

Just before leaving the residents, he grabbed Jareth's shoulders and stared into his eyes. Jareth just about threw up from the fear that leapt into him. Just then Sem walked in the room casually as if he had just gotten over the whole fiasco instantly. The man exclaimed " YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO" just before he bounded out of the house leaving a dismayed boy, a dagger, a puddle of blood, and an uncontcience paramedic. Jareth looked at Sem, grabbed his coat and took off into the pouring rain after the man. At further glance the man seemed to have healed instantaniously, there was no rip in his coat and there was no blood. What happened next seemed like something out of a science fiction movie. The man crouched and jumped about a hundred feet into the air and disapeared. Jareth fell to the ground and body wracking sobs came next. Sem came running after his brother, spotting him in a puddle of rain water and mud, soaking wet and muddy, crying like he was going to die. He picked up his brother and escorted him home. Jareth could not utter a word to Sem. Just stare at him, wondering if he was actually supposed to slay his own flesh and blood.

That night, Jareth tossed and turned in his bed, for what seemed like the hundreth time. The dagger, the blood, and Sem's corpse came back to haunt him as usual, but joining these horrible images... the stranger. His icy eyes piercing into his soul, almost like it was probing his mind, unearthing his darkest secrets and rewriting his sense of sanity. When morning finally came to release him from his nightmares, Jareth couldn't get up. He wouldn't get up. 'Maybe, if I just lay here, it will all go away' he reasoned with himself, much like he did when he was younger. But it never did, and it was highly unlikely it would work now. Sighing, he opened his eyes, letting in the bright light filtering through his curtains.

There came the sound of clattering from downstairs: the sign that Sem was already up and about, busying himself away in the kitchen. He seemed completely unfazed by the strange and terrifying occurences of yesterday. Jareth, however, was far from calm - he found himself twitching as he finally rose from his bed, rubbing his aching cranium, and groaning miserably. Clumsily throwing some clothes on himself, he went to get up and walk downstairs.... when there came a sudden seering pain tearing thorugh his head and a brief flash of light almost made him collapse. Stumbling against a wardrobe, Jareth panted, clutching his spinning head, willing the world to stop rushing around. "W...what's going on!?' he cried bitterly, the frustration from all the nightmares rising to it's insane peak. Why him? To what purpose? He wish he knew.
