Appearance: A relatively average looking man all around, but Tobin takes good care of himself. He keeps himself neat and tidy and wears the best clothes he can even on the most plain of days. His hair is short and neatly combed, parted a bit to the left. He has charming, doe-like brown eyes and thin but well-defined eyebrows, and almost always looks unusually calm and happy. He spends most of his time inside and is rather pale, though his skin has no blemishes or scars. Though he is fairly average as far as height goes he leans a bit towards the tall side at five foot ten, and his body is lean but not at all muscular. Usually, he wears a dress shirt and dress pants, though if he can he will wear a tuxedo. He is never seen without black, polished shoes. He is rather fond of jewelry and takes every opportunity to decorate himself while still looking professional. He has both of his ears pierced and wears large ruby-red jewel earrings, and each of his fingers on his left hand bears a silver ring. At any given time he may have two or three necklaces on, usually bearing symbols of crosses, daggers, or demonic things. Another object he is rarely seen without is a book, usually a theology book.
Personality: At a glance Tobin comes off as an extremely friendly and helpful individual who is almost impossible to anger. He is always a hard worker and if often the first to offer help or start a conversation, but he is not what he seems. He is a charmer, a seducer, a merchant of deceit. His charisma is his strongest quality, and with the right amount of conversation he can persuade a good many people to his side. He pretends to have a great deal of care for his customers, his followers, and humanity in general and though there are a select few people he has any genuine emotion for, he is mostly just using others for his own advantage. Tobin's conscience is debatable as he seems to have no problem manipulating the lives of others for his own selfish gain. He defends what he is doing with a 'survival of the smartest' philosophy and claims that anyone who lets themselves be deceived deserves whatever they get. He is a natural born leader and though he won't show it he gets extremely frustrated when he is in a situation where he cannot take charge. Though he could not physically overwhelm many he has a way of being intimidating. Not above using fear to get what he wants, if anyone pushes him over the edge he can go from charming companion to terrifying maniac in an instant. Because of his extreme charisma, however, he is rarely ever suspected of anything.
He opens himself to very few people but if he does happen to meet a 'kindred spirit' of sorts he will talk and talk and talk. He adores talking about the nature of humanity and also about theology - demonology and eschatology in particular. He has a large vocabulary from all the reading he does, and his way of speaking sounds almost rehearsed. Another odd thing about his speech is that he refers to pretty much everyone as 'friend', which could be creepy or comforting depending on how one looks at it. Though he loves a companion he is able to be content with spending large amounts of time alone, especially writing in his journals. Tobin has been known to fill up an entire journal within a week, just writing his thoughts and rambling on.
A little-known fact about Tobin, he sincerely believes himself to be an Anti-Christ of sorts.
Why would he get taken to the island?: Though Tobin believes that no one is able to manipulate him in the way that he does to others, he is wrong. If he were brought to the island with promises of gaining power, he would gladly go along with it and believe himself to be on top of things the entire way through without realizing that he had been tricked into becoming one of Moreau's specimens. He would also take sides with Moreau and the other scientists and most likely try to convince others to do the same.

Animal: PazuzuPazuzu is a wind demon king from Assyrian and Babylonian mythology, though his image is commonly associated with the occult. His most commonly known appearance in Western culture was in the film The Excorcist, in which he possesses a young girl. He is a combination of various animals - he has the head of a lion, the body of a man, the talons of an eagle, two sets of wings, and the tail of a scorpion. He is most commonly seen with his right hand pointed upwards, and his left hand pointed downwards, symbolizing the philosophy of "As Above, So Below", relating to the connection between spiritual, mental, and physical realities. Though he was viewed as a bringer of disease and famine, he was considered to be helpful in issues involving pregnancy and childbirth.
