Which doctor would you hang out with?
and way back during the time of the sixth Doctor during the episodes The Mysterious Planet, Mindwarp, Terror of the Vervoids and The Ultimate Foe there was a possible evil future-version of the doctor called Valeyard. I know the doctor's personality changes with each regenoration but is it possible something happens that causes him to become evil.
My reasons to believe this are: 1.The 10th Doctor has a very dark manic personality 2.usually the doctor does have a manic personality 3.Some of his actions are questionable
Possible reasons for him going a little evil or crazy: 1.He is the last time lord(most likely) 2.he is always going to outlive his companions. 3.He end up leaving those close to him 4.He has seen the darker side of many creartures specificcly humans 5.He will do anything to stop the Daleks(if they somehow manage to appear)

I think I'd pick the fourth. The first 3 are all too old, and in this day and age it would seem kind of creepy, Five is too much of a boy scout, Six a little too full of himself, Eight is a bit wimpy, I'd want to beat the crap out of Nine if he started pulling that "stupid apes" crap with me, and Ten seems to treat male companions like dirt (e.g. Mickey). Seven might not be bad to hang around with though.
I thought it was funny you omitted 6 and 7 in favor of the Watcher and Valeyard... mrgreen

Ohh, yeah I'd say 10 (3 guesses why, hey!) heh heh heh... but 4 had a really awesome personality as well. Yeah I agree with Hairy Priest on that the first three doctors are all too old, I never watched the 5th Doctor so I have to say no, ahh... the 6th Doctors coat would probably give me a seizure, McCoy I didn't find too interesting, McGann might have been a nice guy... the 9th was cool but I wouldn't want to hang round him, so that leaves the 10th, being tall and sexy and crazy.
So yeah, 10 or 4.

I've heard about those episodes, even though I haven't watched them- but all the rumours seem to be different- is the evil Doctor thing ah, is he the actal doctor from the future/ the actual doctor that is evil, or is he somebody's creation that is evil? I just remember someone saying that it wasn't the actual Doctor. I don't know, its confusing... I think he's more likely to become a depressed emotional wreck than an evil psychopath.

The Valeyard is like the Watcher was...he exists between incarnations; in his case between the 12th & final ones. He's the pure essence of every dark thought or deed the Doctor ever had or will have. (If all that escapes before the regeneration is complete, does that mean his last incarnation will have a totally clean slate & be completely good?) The Valeyard wants to have his own existance free of the Doctor. Right now he has the Doctor's memories, habits & such, but they disgust him. (Guess he's a lot like the Homunculi in Full Metal Alchemist, who are stuck with the memories of the people they were made from but they want to be their own selves instead.)

If you gave me the choice of traveling with any of them, not just which one I'd just dearly love to travel with, I'd pick the Thirteenth. Two reasons: first, my maternal instincts wouldn't let me not be around to protect him when he really needs it, being as this is his last incarnation and he's basically just mortal, and second, if the Valeyard does take all his meanness away, he'd probably be so kind and sweet I wouldn't be able to help liking him and anyway he'd need someone around to stick up for him and prevent him from being walked all over. Come to think of it, he'd probably need the toughest companion ever if he does end up completely good. Nine's a grouch and kind of a tough guy and he still does naive things (like seriously considering letting the Empty Child come into that house). Yes, I'm such an idiot, I'd do that to myself, risk being the companion who outlives him. Hopefully some miracle will occur and he'll get more regenerations...
Anyway, I do agree he does seem to be getting a bit... well, there's more bats in his belfry than usual, and they're pretty unpleasant bats. In "The Runaway Bride," he does seem to be getting a bit... almost psychotic. Or is it sociopathic? Whatever it is, where you don't feel properly guilty. Not like he's turning evil, just kind of hardboiled.

about this "only 13 regenerations" thing... Ithink, when the time comes, the 13 Doctor will be all Dramatic and stuff, saying that its the end because hes only got that many regenerations, and there will be a very strange flashback scene with all the companions...then....for some reason, he will pull through and regenerate... then, when he wakes up, he will come up with some vauge reason why he gets more regenerations having to do with the timelords...then they quickley move on to the next thing with as few questions asked as possible..

I don't know, I think they could cook something up that'd be a bit more convincing. (Do I sound hungry to you?) Personally, I've got a whole smorgasboard ( xd ) of possible theories. Perhaps that he is half-human after all, and there's some specific genetic thing that stops Time Lords from regenerating again and again, and he didn't get that. Maybe attached to why his regenerations are always so difficult. And he's been through enough bizarre things, they could invoke one of them, or have a new bizarre thing happen to him. Something that'll give him a vaguely uncertain number of regenerations for preference, so they can have their cake and eat it too and make him as mortal as they want him to be. It'd be essentially stupid to put a specific expiration date on a character when you don't know how long you can keep making shows. But if they want to make a really Kleenex-worthy ending for the series (not "series" to you Brits, I think. But, you know.) they might want to have him find out he's on his last regeneration eventually and, I dunno, make it so he pretty much dies happy. sad
Actually, I wonder why you'd want to do that. After all, if he never gets killed off they can leave it open for someone to revive the show eventually.

I'd want to travel with the Second cos he makes me laugh and we're pretty much equal on the cowardly running away scale and also I could teach him some new tunes for his recorder. xd Though I'd want to travel with Jamie too! I think it would be so much fun, hanging with an incarnation who just wants to have fun and isn't troubled by the darkness of the universe like the Doctor is later and is kinda childish and a bit useless so he's not all superior to his companions.
I was gonna say the 8th... but I'd only end up hugging him all the time and stealing his jacket...
