Why is this so funny?

Well, first off, if it wasn't mentioned on the adverts that DS's have Pictochat then peadophiles may not even of been aware of this (but now are thanks to that news item).

Second, you've got to be extrodinarally stupid to just tell people all your personal details like that (if you can't fuction in the virtual word, how will you cope in the real word? Well you wont will you!)

My third and final point - it's the PEOPLE! Okay! It's whoever is using that technology that's causing these fears not the technology itself. Technology isn't to blame for people falling victum to tradergy, it's the inproper use of the technology by people.

It's not technology's fault peados and idiots exsist, they always have done!

P.S. So if you think banning these things is a way to protect stupid children, where does it stop? Because it's lack of communication (mainly the communication between parents and their children) that caused this problem in the first place! Education isn't just academics! It's a parent's responsibility to their child to teach them about the kinds of people they might come across in the real world and share life experiences with them!

uh...I dunno if kids even contact with others with Pictochat unless they are grouping with their friends....or maybe if they live in an apartment or something. Pictochats can only be contacted for a few feet away. ._.;

(I stay away from the pictochat when my little 10 yr old brother is on it with his friends---he goes and draw boobies and penises. o_o;;; )

I agree that parents or other guardians should teach their kids about talking to people in the "real world" and over the internet, or whatever means of distant communication.

I bet the news will be warning about the Wii too. x_X;

yeah i know it doesn't even work with me and my sis when its just 1 floor below >_> its not that far
but we both use a DS original so maybe DS lite have improved pictochat range?

o_O well that's silly. and besides, to talk in pictochat, you have to be somewhat near the other people you're talking to. so if you're talking to someone in pictochat, you're probably in the same city as that person. and how would a ***** find that kid anyway if they were far apart?

This is retarded, if your a parent and you havent spoken to your child about INTERNET predators then who would this be a problem? If a parent doesnt behave like a parent and leaves it up to school admins or other people to teach their kids about things like this they have noone but themselves to blame if their child does something godawful stupid.
