Okay, this has been the only real sci-fi I've attempted, and its set to modern day Earth. I haven't done major editing yet, so expect the occassional grammatical error. That and this is the first time for me in writing in First Person, and I've found it to be really, really hard since I'm used to 3rd Person - Omniscent...so bear with me...LOL I'm also going to try and post little by little, since my chapters are fairly long. Comments and criticism along the way is greatly appreciated! Chapter 1 Creeping around the corner, with my gun ready, I was sure that my target was just a few feet away. It was only a matter of minutes, no, seconds, before my target would catch wind of me. My options were limited, and the others weren’t around. It’s either now or never, and by never, I mean that my life would be no more. For good this time. “Don’t kill it, Shauna, don’t kill it...” I kept thinking to myself, making sure that I still had some tranquilizers on me. To my dismay though, I just learned that I already used my last ones in a failed attempt to subdue the thing. I crept a bit further to the edge of the corner to listen in on it. A high-pitched shrill echoed through the narrow corridors that lead out from the room the beast was in. The cries sounded reptilian, and it hardly sounded happy. “Sorry Dr. Halsar, but that thing is going down. Hopefully this project will be abandoned because of this.” I thought more as I loaded a shock shell into my weapon. A memory of Trisha-Marie entered my mind as soon as I cocked the gun: Trisha-Marie looked down to me while floating in her life support tube filled with the odd blue fluid that somehow allowed her to speak. “Please remember that they are dangerous,” she referred to the shock shells, “just like the rest of us, they are experimental. But more so like Michael, they are unstable. Once you fire them, you risk getting caught in the electricity should you be close enough to the target. I don’t know how far away you need to be, but stay back as far as you can possibly can. The scientists won’t tell you this, for they partially want to see what effects the shell shocks have on you, but I can’t stand to see all of you play the parts of lab rats. Don’t let them know that I overheard them about those shells, but please, more importantly, only use them if you have to.” I took a deep breath before I would jump to my right, exposing myself to the creature. Hopefully it wasn’t as close as I feared it would be, because I don’t feel like dying, again. Dying was always a b***h. Jumping I immediately took my target by surprise, as I fired my weapon, targeting it’s head. Turns out, the creature was twenty feet ahead. Looks like I was going to get caught up in the fire, err, electricity. As soon as the shell was rammed into what appeared to be a black, short-haired raptor-like dinosaur’s head, the room immediately glowed as though the sun was right smack-dab in the middle of the laboratory. I wasn’t hit with the initial electrical currents, so I took this opportunity to run. I knew that the currents were going to shoot out of where the shell busted, so if I lingered any longer, I would definitely get caught up. I struggled a bit as my eyes adjusted from leaving the bright room to the dimmed hallway. As I ran, so did the dinosaur-creature. Somehow, the electricity wasn’t affecting it as much as any of us expected it to, so I knew that I would be in a bind if I didn’t take care of it first. I couldn’t help but to wonder where Kaemon and Renato were as I ran to desperately outrun the beast for the time being. I could feel the currents catching up with me, as a shock here and there was felt all over my body. I began to utter words, as if my comrades could hear me, but I began apologizing for being irritable to work with. “Renato, I’m sorry for all the times I called you an American dog. It’s really up to you who you decide to swear fealty to. And Kaemon, even though you’re always a b*****d, sorry for being a woman and being ‘in the way’ all the time. I really do hate you guys, but hey, it’s been real, it‘s been fun. Not real fun mind you.” I could feel the dinosaur-like creature begin to snap at me, but it was, luckily, unsuccessful with each attempt. “Actually, I wouldn’t call this fun at all...”

Chapter 1 (cont) I wasn’t honestly paying attention to where I was going, so more or less, I ended up at a sort of a dead end. I took a corridor that lead to a locked door, and due to the corridors being so narrow, the beast had me cornered. With the walls made out of a sort of metal alloy, the electricity would spread much easier, but on a good note, the shell shock was beginning to fade out. This, meaning that I would only be shocked for the next few minutes before I was to be eaten. “Have fun eating my crisp, metal plated body, jackass!” I said in a futile attempt to a furry, carnivorous reptile that would hardly understand the English language. I raised my unloaded shell shock rifle to defend myself, even though I knew it was pointless to. I began to feel the bolts of electricity sting me as the dinosaur charged after me. Holding my gun as a weak attempt for a shield, I closed my eyes upon seeing its fangs at nearly fifteen feet away. The next thing that I could hear was not the battle cry of a beast, but of a man as the sound of metal seemed to drag against the floor. It was a sound that I was thankful for. I’ve only heard that sound a few times in this new life, and every time it came from one source; the tip of Kaemon’s sword dragging against the ground before it was brought up into a powerful uppercut. The beast never saw it coming. When the shocks stopped, I could really make heads and tails of the situation...literally. I survived only because Kaemon had rescued me yet again. I was thankful, but I was more peeved that the beast actually didn’t eat me now. “Nice job killing the beast without my help.” Kaemon smirked as he sheathed his katana. The fair-built asian man then swiped a bit of his bangs out of his face, as if to show that killing the creature hardly broke a sweat. His black hair was cut fairly short, with his bangs being the only lengthy part of his hair, ending at his cheekbone. He was a man that died in battle in the Meiji Era at the young age of twenty-five. He offered his hand to help me up from my now kneeled position, but instead, I slapped his hand away. “Don’t bother!” Was all I could mutter as I lifted myself up. It ached for me to stand, and the armor made me feel even worse with the burning pain I felt due to the shocks, but I didn’t want to damage my pride any further. Kaemon laughed. “What a nice speech you had a moment ago.” I was a bit confused as to how he heard. “Were you following me this whole time?” He shook his head. “You thought that your connection on the intercom was lost because it was broken. Actually, we could hear everything you said, but you couldn’t seem to hear us. It’s a good thing for you that you talk to yourself a lot.” He began to laugh again. I placed my gun back into its holster that was tied onto my back after shutting it off. After doing that, I began to ignore his snide comments and proceeded to grab at one of the beast’s leg. “Well, are you just going to stand there or are you going to help me drag this thing back?” He placed his hands on his hips and turned away. “I think you can handle this one without me. You don’t need me to help you with everything, eh busu?” “Why do you keep calling me that? What does that mean?” I retorted, but I knew he wouldn’t tell me. I watched him walk away, and knowing that he wouldn’t help me, I began to drag the odd creature by it’s leg. That’s when I noticed that the head was no longer attached. I cringed at the thought of carrying the severed head, but I was sure that the head was more important than the body of the beast. I waited until I was dead sure that the shock shell was completely finished before lifting the bloody head. Ten minutes later, I braved picking up the head and began to limp my way back to the lab. Along the way, I cursed myself for still being with this Project, and began to wonder when I would ever make my move. Deep down, I knew it was impossible to escape and remain alive for long, but it was really the only thing I lived for at this point. It sure as hell wasn’t over becoming an ‘American Dog’ myself. Of course, speaking of the devil, I run into Renato over halfway to the exit of this lower laboratory. This man who’s last day alive before resurrection was in his late twenties, was heavily built to the point that even without wearing armor, he would still look as if he were wearing it under his clothes. Despite the muscles and the strict military hairstyle and mannerisms, he was actually a real sweet heart. Not that I would go for him with intentions of being more than a friend or a comrade, but speaking as a woman, I could easily see why maybe the women would love him. Even though the beast was surely dead, I still hated carrying its head, and seeing as I went through more to kill this than even Kaemon did, I didn’t feel bad in the least when I threw the head at him for him to carry. “Got a gift for ya.” Renato caught it, knowing what it was. “Eww, I thought furry animals were supposed to be cute.” He joked as he began walking alongside of me with the wide-eyed head in his arms. “Well, apparently that theory doesn’t work for him. I’m glad it doesn’t bother you to carry it.” “Eh, it’s the least I can do. Sorry we left you alone back there.” I wiped my bloody hands on my pants in a calm fashion. “Bah, it’s no problem. If there was anything left of me, I’m sure I would have been resurrected again. It seems like good help is hard to find these days when it comes to us.” We were fairly silent the rest of the way to the elevator, but as soon as we reached it, the burning sensation overcame me a bit, and without knowing it would happen, I passed out.

Chapter 1 (cont) Waking up, I found myself in a room that was beginning to become too familiar to me. Ever since I was brought into this project, I have passed out a total of fourteen times. Not exactly a good thing, as it’s only been a couple of months since I finished my training. The other two have only passed out around three to four times their whole time in this project. Maybe it was because I was a woman that was raised without any sort of fighting experience being adjusted into a life of nothing but fighting. After all, Renato was obviously built for war, and Kaemon had been raised to fight as a samurai. What is to be expected from a girl who’s major living skills involved selling movie tickets and popcorn? I was greeted, as I usually am when I’m in this plain, white room, by Dr. Pyotorsky. “Pleasant dreams, Shauna?” He asked while leaning over my head as I lay on the examining table. I moaned a bit as I sat myself up. He took a step back to give me a bit more room. “More importantly, do you feel any better?” “Sure, nothing like taking out a mystery reptile to rejuvenate one’s self.” I sarcastically uttered. I went to stand, but I found out the hard way that my legs were a little weak. Dr. Pyotorsky went to help me up, but I resisted his offer. “Your legs went through a lot in that confrontation. I don’t know if you even noticed it, seeing as how fast you ran, that the nerves in your legs took more of a blow than in the rest of your body. I suspect as much, seeing as the mamm-reptilian was smart enough to try and bite at your legs to try and halt you. Of course, by doing that, the shock shell was the closest to your legs the whole time.” I honestly was too worried at the time to notice, and it didn’t take long for the pain to surge through all my body then, drowning out the extra feeling of pain in my legs. When you are being electrocuted all over, it’s kind of hard to pin-point what part of the body hurts the most and what nerves aren‘t functioning properly. “Eh, whatever, I’ll live. If you can consider me living, that is. How long do you think it’ll take before I can walk without pain?” “Well, for a normal human,” he started, “I’d say a couple of weeks with recovery training. But since we aren’t talking about a normal human being, I’d say a few days. Maybe without the recovery training. But right now, I’d say that you’ll need some rest.” There was actually a time where those words would bother me. ‘A normal human being’. These past few weeks, I’ve become to adjust to this way of life to the point that I really don’t consider myself human anyway. I may be breathing, walking, talking again, but I sure as hell didn’t consider myself human having known the icy touch of death. Kaemon entered the room, “You needed me?” Dr. Pyotorsky smiled, and nodded. “Yes, I need you to take Shauna back to her room. She’s going to need some rest.” Of course I would refuse Kaemon’s help, as he always picked on me for needing the help of a man when it came to some sort of task. Once again, I found myself slapping his hand aside and tried to stand on my own. “I’m fine on my own thanks! I’d rather crawl than accept your help again!” Dr. Pyotorsky’s eyebrows were knit at what I said. “We all need help here and there. I wouldn’t expect Kaemon to walk on his own if he were in the same situation...” “Let her do it.” Kaemon snapped at the gray-haired scientist. “I think she can make it on her own.” I hissed at his calm comment and began to use the wall to stay up. It was a slow process, and it sure as hell hurt to move. I began to wonder why my room was the furthest away from the lab and mentally continued to curse my pride. I didn’t used to have pride this strong, but I guess I could only handle so many insults from Kaemon before I gained the cursed feeling.

Chapter 1 (cont) Of course, it would be too much to ask for me getting to my room without falling or stopping. In an attempt to go to the right side of the hallway from being on the left side, I tripped and fell on my side. It was at that point Renato walked around the corner from where I was heading towards. He ran up to me, but like I did with Kaemon, I refused his help before he could offer it. “Sorry, but I need to prove I can take care of myself.” I muttered while trying to push myself up. “Kaemon, right?” Renato had leaned over, as if still ready to help me up, although he apparently took heed to my demand. I nodded. “But even then, I need to get strong if I’m to keep up with the rest of you. I’ve got a long ways to go, and the more I depend on you guys, the longer it’ll take to reach your ranks.” Renato smirked. “Well, remember, everyone needs help here and there. After all, we had our times of help, but since we either didn’t use it or have it offered, we did end up here, didn’t we?” He actually had a point there. If I would have spoken to my parents when I found out I was pregnant back then, maybe I wouldn’t have got into that car accident when I tried to delay going home. If I had pursued their help instead of feared it, maybe I would be living a normal life...or actually have a life. I couldn’t believe what I did next, but I extended my arm towards him to ask for help. It was like Renato intentionally said what he said so that he could convince me to accept his help. I don’t know if it was because I was a comrade or if I was a woman, but he was always eager to help me when I was in a bad situation. Maybe he pitied me for being here. Of course, as soon as he lifted me to my feet, Kaemon walked from around the corner with his arms folded. His expression was most foul, when he discovered that I was using Renato’s help. “Typical. Just when I thought maybe she could take care of herself, I discover she’s using you to take the easy path.” Renato didn’t seem angered, but he definitely didn’t agree with him. “Don’t act that way. We all need help at times. I’m not saying that because she’s a woman that she’s having trouble with this kind of life, but you have to admit that this came easier to us since we were in training since we were little. She’s not exactly a big built woman either.” “You’re right. She’s built like a typical woman. Frail, weak, and yet, the most her body could do was to give birth to a dead child.” That struck a nerve with me, and whereas in the past, I would have begun bawling at the subject, I found myself grabbing for Renato’s gun that rested in it’s holster and aimed it at Kaemon, shooting him in the shoulder. Apparently that was the most I could do, as I then fell to my knees. “You’re lucky that I’m not feeling well right now, or they would be resurrecting you again.”

Holy crap this is longer than I expected! And this was one of the shorter chapters o_O... Chapter 1 (cont) Kaemon cursed at the wound, and ran up towards me. He grabbed my neck, and with his good, free from the effects of a bullet arm, he raised me off the ground. “Such foul weapons you use! You depend on a gun that takes no talent or strength to use! I worked hard to be this strong, and although you have worked hard, it’s all been for a weak weapon that you can’t even seem to master! At least Renato can fight in close combat with Tae-Kwon-Do!” Renato did just what Kaemon mentioned, and used his right leg in a side kick to kick Kaemon away from me. I guess he thought that maybe upon receiving the kick, Kaemon would let go of me as he fell backwards, but instead, Kaemon’s grip was still tight, and I ended up landing on top of the fallen ex-samurai. I was too busy struggling to breath as his hand finally let loose of my neck to be able to move, and was eventually pushed aside when Kaemon raised to his feet. “That was going too far!” Renato shouted. It was at this point that the other scientists were appearing to see what the gunfire and the shouting was about. “You know that she’s trying hard, so why do you continue acting like this? It’s not an easy process, and she really has accomplished a lot in her training! Besides, it does take talent to use a gun, and she’s proven to be a great sniper!” Kaemon bit his lower lip as he grabbed for his tonto blade, and used it in just a matter of seconds to get the burning bullet out of his shoulder. It was a bitter sight for all around to see him do it, but they actually seemed amazed at how quickly he did it. “Of course I know it’s hard! We didn’t have it easy, so why should she?” He then turned the other way and began walking through the small crowd of scientists. Dr. Pyotorsky pushed through the crowd as well, passing by Kaemon, and he kneeled next to me. “What happened? Are you okay?” Still hurt, physically and emotionally by Kaemon, I still tried to keep my pride up. “I’m fine. I honestly don’t see how any of you deal with that b*****d.” Dr. Pyotorsky gave a sigh as he then helped me up. “Renato, please take her to her room. Even if you have to drag her, help her out.” I didn’t refuse this time, as I was honestly too tired and too much in pain to even try. As the crowd was dispersing, I whispered to the doctor, “Why is a compassionate man such as yourself here? You’re too nice of a person to be in this sort of business.” The doctor smirked and closed his eyes. “I’m really no better than the others, but I guess you could say that I’m trying to make amends for a past I wished never took place.” I found it hard to believe that this man, possibly one of the most kind-hearted of people I know, could have a past as dark as he made it sound to be. He dared not talk about it to anyone, and since he was here since the very beginning, very few have worked here as long as himself to even know of what happened in his younger days here. But after all, he was one of the founding scientists of this Project, so maybe it wasn’t so impossible for this man to have committed a great wrong. He did still work here after all. After Renato helped me to my room, he sat me on my bed. He asked if I could take things from there, as really, he was a bashful type around women. He assumed that I needed to change my attire, so he was hoping that I would be fine without his help on that issue. I gave a bit of a chuckle as I nodded. “You helped me through the hard part, thanks. I should be able to take it from here.” He returned the chuckle as he headed for the door. “Don’t pay attention to what Kaemon said. It wasn’t your fault with what happened with your child. He knows that too, I’m sure. I think he was just thrown off by that gun shot wound.” I gave a weak nod, so weak it almost wasn’t noticeable. The truth being that I didn’t want to dwell on that subject again. It took so long for me to get over it, so I didn’t want to even think about him. Renato left me at that point, and instead of changing, I just fell backwards upon my pillow to go to sleep. End of Chapter 1

Chapter 2 It took me a little over a day to be back to normal again. I was for the most part healed by the time I woke up almost nine hours later, but I kept feeling nerve spasms and muscle cramps for the rest of the day I was awake. I probably should have spent the day resting, but I wanted to learn more about what happened with the mamm-reptilian. I was too concerned that maybe they would still continue to reproduce the man-made creature, but after what happened with their last creation, I figured that they learned from their mistake. I met up with Dr. Pyotorsky as he was examining Trisha-Marie’s life-support container. She wasn’t in it, or anywhere in the room for that matter. It was after all one of her eight hours of moving around, so I assumed that she was visiting Michael. I’ve never seen the man, but from what I heard, he sounded like a man who was far worse than Kaemon. And a man worse than Kaemon was no man I would dare want to meet. But it did make me wonder why the sickly Trisha-Marie would want to endanger herself by meeting the most deadliest creature known to man. “Ah, I see you’re up! How are you feeling?” Dr. Pyotorsky asked once he saw me out of the corner of his eyes. “I presume better if you decided to tread this far on your own.” I leaned up against the wall. “I feel a bit tingly, and I do have body cramps, but for the most part, I feel much better than yesterday. But I was really curious about that thing that caused me the pain.” “I’m guessing you mean the mamm-reptilian, unless by chance, you mean the shell shocks.” “Well, now that you mention it, I’m a bit curious about the shell shocks too. But I really want to know about that thing.” “That’s understandable. I haven’t heard any changes to the production to the shell shocks, but I do think they have at least decided to halt the mamm-reptilian project for a while, but I can’t guarantee that Dr. Halsar will give up on his precious project.” “You sound as if your against it.” “Of course I am! It’s already going too far to revive the dead, but it’s an abomination on a whole new level to create something that was not created by God!” “Well, in a sense, do you think that maybe it was God who decided to let this thing be created, and decided to grant it the success of being brought to life? That is, if God even cares.” The doctor grabbed his wrists with his arms behind his back and approached me. “I guess I can see things through your perspective, since you are one of the victims, but normally, I would fight that subject out. I believe that God cares, but because he cares, he wishes for us scientists to burn in hell for our jobs.” I was a bit surprised at his words. “You seem to be able to accept that a little too calmly, if you ask me. If you are so quick to believe that you’re condemned to spend your afterlife in Hell, then why do you still stay here?” “My dear child, I repent everyday for my sins, but I have this feeling that even if I quit researching this now, no matter how much I try to redeem myself, I will still be hell bound.” I took a few seconds to let his words sink in. “What sin did you commit that was so unforgivable? You make it sound like you’re the worst of the bunch!” The doctor closed his eyes as he turned away from me. It was as if he was planning on meditating right then and there. “Maybe I am, maybe I’m not. But I’m no angel. I will say though, that I’m not the same man I was forty years ago. But enough of that. I do not intend to burden anyone with my regrets, especially you.”

Chapter 2 (cont) I decided to drop the matter as well, as I was positive that this past of his was as much of a painful one as my dead child was. Though it made me suddenly think of my own family again and what they were possibly doing now. Especially of Henry. Had he already moved on? Had I already been forgotten, or could I possibly still be mourned? I then asked something I didn’t plan on asking. “When will I ever see the outside world again? Or will I?” The doctor seemed glad for the change of the subject and seemed to be his happy self again. “I believe that after a little bit more training, you may see it sooner than you think.” “What do you mean by that?” The doctor walked back to the life-support container and opened the fuse box to check the condition of it. “It seems that the military is keen on having a special assassination force, and they are more interested in the three of you. I’ve been meaning to talk to you all about that, but I was actually afraid to bring it up.” “Afraid?” I asked as I walked towards him. “I guess I could understand why, but anyway, don’t they already have assassination teams? And there is Michael after all.” While still focused on the machine, he continued to answer my questions. “Well, that is true, but they are already known by the President. General Leswall has been keen on this secret group ever since he first found out about it, and he seems bent on having a secret group to take care of, sadly to say, the dirty work. I’m personally against it, but I seem to be one of the few to feel that way. I would like to say that my word is final, but even though I have been here the longest, things don’t work that way. General Leswall has much more authority than myself, and really, in the end, it’s up to you three in whether you can do it or not.” “Wow, you mean we have a choice in this? That doesn’t sound like the government, or rather the military way of going about things.” I jested. “That’s because it’s not your choice if you know about it. They were wanting to put you through a series of tests as soon as I told you, whether you wanted to or not. So if you want, I can act like I never mentioned it to you, or you can wait until I’m either forced to tell you with a witness around, or until someone else tells you.” “Hell, I’ve gone this far into the project, I might as well prepare now for this one so I can at least have a bit more meaning in this existence. I’m sure Renato and Kaemon would jump at a chance like this.” “I’d imagine they would. I was more worried about you, seeing as you’re still pretty new to this, but I’m actually amazed you want to pursue this. I guess I can’t blame you. But if you do go through with this, you’re going to have to stay quiet about your opinions of the government, as you are going to learn that it’s just as ugly, if not then more ugly than you ever thought before. For we’re not talking about criminals you’ll be killing, we’re talking about political leaders and ambassadors. These people may be the nicest people in the world, but because they are on the opposing side of our political views, you might get ordered to kill them. And remember, General Leswall isn’t a very caring man.” I gave a sigh and thought about it for a moment. “I already figured that this went on, but I never would have dreamed that I would be the one pulling the trigger. I suppose I’ll just have to know as little about their personal life as I possibly can to get by.” The doctor finally stopped for a bit. “And also...remember, that you will be used at times as a decoy, and may get killed in the process. You may die many more times being in this line of work, and that’s probably what the general is the most interested in. He’s so obsessed about preserving his own men that he wouldn’t mind having a group of soldiers that could be disposed of time and time again. I hope that never happens, but that’s just wishful thinking. That’s why you have to train harder, but since you are a sniper, at least you won’t be in direct contact like Kaemon or Renato.” I chuckled and commented on his last sentence. “I would feel bad for Renato, but I could feel the least bit of pity for Kaemon for being a sword-wielder.” “True, but he seems to be the best trained soldier out of the three. Renato is pretty close, but he still lacks the quick thinking skills to be on the frontline. Kaemon seems to be well balanced with all the skills needed to be a great warrior.” I rolled my eyes and turned to face the complicated machine before me. “And it’s because of that his pride is the biggest of anyone I’ve ever met. I wonder what he would be like if he were more like a normal man.” The aged man laughed at my comment and answered my rhetorical question. “He’d probably be like you. No offense, but your pride is almost as strong as his since you took up training in Project U.S. But I doubt he would be as mean as he is, though.” I did take some offense to what he said, but I wouldn’t let him know it. I knew that he didn’t mean harm by it. I figured, though, that I should let him get back to work on checking the machine without me distracting him further.

Chapter 2 (cont) I decided to rest a bit more, before venturing around more. I did find out what I wanted to know, plus more, so I felt that I made my short trip to Dr. Pyotorsky fruitful. But, that would be too simple to return to my room without running into him. Kaemon didn’t seem to be too thrilled to bump into me as we met at the corner right before my bedroom door. I just wanted to pass by him and head for my room, but he surprisingly seemed to be in a bit of a better mood than the other day. A bit. “So how’s busu?” “Okay, I know I don’t know your language that well, but I can at least tell when something is an insult. Why must you keep calling me that?” Kaemon laughed. “What do you think?” I rolled my eyes and began to walk away from him, heading for my room. As I grabbed my door handle, I then said without facing him, “You and Renato should see Dr. Pyotorsky. He just told me something interesting.” I was about to enter my room without looking at him, but the silence that came from him almost disturbed me. That or I thought maybe he had already walked away. Thinking the latter, I turned to face where he was to find he still stood there. His facial expression was blank though, and I found it odd for him to be staring emotionless at me. It actually appeared as though his mind just left him as soon as he was about to say his normal rude comment towards me. I couldn’t believe what I did next, but I actually became a bit worried. I approached him as he still stared blankly into space towards me. “Kaemon? Are you okay? Did you finally snap?” I raised my hand before his eyes and as soon as I began waving, he grabbed my wrist while still staring into space. I cringed the second he grabbed it, expecting him to squeeze tightly, but I could’ve easily jerked free had I tried. I was more surprised by his loose grip to really do anything. I did muster out some words though. “What’s wrong?” He finally blinked, shook his head and quickly afterwards, let loose of my wrist. “I think I just had what you would say is a flashback.” My eyes grew wide. “What caused that? And what was it?” His face turned back to it’s cold demeanor. “That is none of your business!” He then stormed off. “Wow, that was odd. Who knows what kind of flashback he would have? Probably bickering with someone, probably another woman.” I figured as much since he didn’t strike me as someone who made a lot of friends, but whatever it was, it was definitely something he wasn’t fond of. I took this opportunity to return to my room and rest a bit more to return to normal and re-start my training. End of Chapter 2
