I see this is no. 1 on Play.com's sales listings at the moment. It does what it says on the tin, so if you are the owner of a PS2 or PSP and fancy reliving the days of Golden Axe, Alex Kidd or Ecco the Dolphin, then this collection is for you. See this link for details. The passion for all things nostalgia continues unabated, although I imagine the fact that it costs less than £20 is also helping smile Is this out in the States too? Has anyone tried it out yet? I wouldn't mind hearing the music to "Columns" again smile DW

I find it hilarious that the PS2 version is Play.com's best seller, and yet the PSP version has only shifted 8'000 units.
I wont buy until/unless I get a full game list.
But in the long run, this is SO much cheaper than buying Virtual Console titles, so if it has Ristar, Streets of Rage Trilogy and Revenge of Shinobi, I'm buying.

I'm told it has all of those, and Sonic 2 and 1 of course, plus many other games, and some that we used to think were awesome.

Does Sega's official site not say anything about the games available? My net connection is playing up and refusing to load Sega Europe's homepage at the moment, or I'd check. I'm sure I got a newsletter from them about it... *rifles through her trash can* Have a look here if you can get the dratted page to open. My server's playing silly games at the moment, apparently, so it stalls on "Loading". DW

Well, all the promo says "and unlockables"
A quick trip to google teaches me... no SoR and RoS seems absent despite #3 being there. I assume a sequel is coming.
What pulls my interest is that you can optimize the games for wide screen view, full screen, 50HZ, 60HZ and use anolog or digital control.
In other words, this is a GOOD compilation, and worth my £17. I'm buying right this second. Sonic 2 on the 42" with wide screen enabled = YES.

I'm a little tempted, as apparantly the emulation is better than Mega Collection.
I may get it after Okami, God Hand and FFXII.

I still need to get around to picking it up myself, mostly to try out Ristar again (it has to be well over a decade since I've played that one). Wish I could find out what games were unlockable... Though even the starting stock is decent, especially for the rather low price.
If Gunstar Heroes were on it, I'd be estatic... (the GBA sequel's good, but I miss getting to mix up all sorts of crazy weaponry)
Btw...anyone know if the rumors of this being a limited release has any truth? Considering I'm still seeing it in stores after several months, I'm starting to lean on the safe side of it being false.

No idea, to be honest. It's only just been released over here - at least I presume that's why Sega Europe was touting it in their latest newsletter.

Sea-Salt Ice Cream I still need to get around to picking it up myself, mostly to try out Ristar again (it has to be well over a decade since I've played that one). Wish I could find out what games were unlockable... Though even the starting stock is decent, especially for the rather low price. Ristar is a great little game- one of my favourite platformers. However, it was also on the Megacollection+, or this'd be a far higher priority for me Quote: If Gunstar Heroes were on it, I'd be estatic... (the GBA sequel's good, but I miss getting to mix up all sorts of crazy weaponry) All (as far as I know) the games on this collection are Sega-developed. Gunstar Heroes was instead Treasure-developed, so Sega don't own the rights. It was released on the PS2, along with Dynamite Headdy and Alien Soldier, in the Treasure Box collectiuon; but this, irritatingly, was never released outside Japan. Quote: Btw...anyone know if the rumors of this being a limited release has any truth? Considering I'm still seeing it in stores after several months, I'm starting to lean on the safe side of it being false. I'd say it probably is. Certainly haven't heard anything like that myself, and I've read plenty of articles on the game.

*Laughs* I'm buying it specifically for Ristar, as I don't have the patience to unlock it on Mega Collection.
It's bad enough I spent almost 48 hours of effort unlocking Gems stuff.

It took me about 30 mins to unlock it on Mega Collection, or something. I forget. Mind you, they were a dull 30 minutes.
