There is a free anime convention in Guilford College in Greensboro, NC this weekend. There will be a Doctor Who room. WHAT-THE-HELL?! CON 2007

Hmm. When they say every Dr. Who episode ever made will be shown on demand, obviously they're not including the ones that got incinerated. Or do they just mean episodes from the new series?
Was there really a movie called Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter?! xd

gonk I'll be in North Carolina the weekend after next. Under duress, mind you! My parents are considering moving there because my dad's job is kind of getting transferred or something. I'd love to be able to go to an anime convention and all that instead of having to go around looking at real estate...
My luck stinks. It'd be so cool if I could go. I might even be able to meet some of you guys! If only I was going to NC the weekend of the convention...

C'mon, Lullabee! You'll like NC! biggrin What region are you possibly moving to? There are a lot of Gaians in the Piedmont! We have our own guild! I'm betting your Dad is looking to move in or near Charlotte, Greensboro or Raleigh.
Too bad you'll miss the con. If I go, I'll take a few pictures. What I really want is a Dealers Room! I haven't been to a con in years.

Chapel Hill. Supposedly almost everyone in the area we're moving to is either from out of state or from New England. I'm not entirely sure. And they say it's kind of posh.
So this is an annual convention? Why are all my reasons so far for being openminded about moving Doctor Who-related? Because the other reason I'm trying not to complain is that if the Doctor has learned to like traveling all the time, I shouldn't feel like my life will be over if I leave Massachusetts. Does that even make sense?

Does that even make sense? Chapel Hill is very nice. The University is there, original campus. I go every week. I have to, my mother-in-law lives there.

Yes, Chapel Hill is rather rich. You might consider communities farther out if you aren't loaded. Hillsborough is one, although it's historic right in town & expensive. You could live sort of out from downtown. That would be about 10-15 minutes away from Chapel Hill.
There's also Mebane, about 20-25 minutes away. I live in Mebane. It's a nice little town just off the Interstate! biggrin They're just now building a new development on hwy 70 east of town, & expanding another out west of town on the 3rd St. extension. Mebane is a bedroom community for people who work in the Triangle & a lot of folks are moving here.
I moved to NC from Indiana years ago. I thought it would be horrible starting all over down here, but I have really come to love NC. No way would I want to go back to Indiana now!
