The juvenile had, once again, been sent on a 'mission' to the Pridelands. He couldn't understand why his mother wanted him to go, now that they already had their captive, but he followed her orders anyway. No matter what he thought about her actions, she was his mother, and he wanted to please her.
So, his dark form moved quickly through the tall grass, his scarlet eyes bright. Find the runt's family and tell me how they're acting, she had said. Are they talking about him? Is the father agitated? Don't leave out any details!
"Yes, Mama," he murmured subconsciously before scowling at himself. Had his talk with Kaihdin meant nothing? He shouldn't obey her so blindly, but... what was he supposed to do? She had a nasty temper, and, and, she was his mother!
His face contorted in confusion and he plopped down, looking at his paws. Oh, why couldn't things be easier? Tain had proven to him that young lions weren't supposed to worry so much. They were supposed to play and have fun, so why did his family have to be different?

On the other side of the spectrum a certain female his age was exploring the pale grasses, blending in perfectly well with her grayed-wheat pelt. She had been following a pair of grasshoppers until they finally wised up and went seperate ways, leaving Sheshe'kani to pout in their absence.
Her mother was napping on a bolder not far away, or Kani wouldn't be as far from home as she was. Being a goody two shoe of sorts, she generally tried to follow all rules, and even those that hadn't been spoken.
When she spotted Cam up ahead though, her ears perked, and she grinned.
He had just been mistaken for her brother from this distance.
She ducked into the grasses with a smirk and began stalking forward, steps as silent as possible.

Alas, poor Cam was the neglected child, the one who was only summoned when he was needed. Because of this, he had absolutely no training or teaching, and so he was blissfully unaware of of the female creeping up on him.
He took in a deep breath, trying to shake himself out of his sorrows. He was on a mission and wasn't going to let Roho down. So, gathering himself up, he puffed his chest out and continued forward, trying to walk as confidently as his siblings did.
