I just made a paper maché Haku (from Naruto) mask, and I want to attach a stretchy cord to it so it can be worn. But before I do that, I need to know if the cord will tear the mask/pull on it/break it, or anything like that.

The mask is about the thickness of thin cardboard.

If attaching a string will put too much pressure on the mask, is there something I can put on it to help the mask hold up? (Something thrifty, preferably: I'm pretty broke. xP)

Thank you for reading, and all help is appreciated. ^^

I have never done masks before but you could get some clear elastic and possibly superglue it. Or regular.

If you staple it, it will be shown.

Im not an expert at this so I suggest going to the cosplay.com forums and ask there.
