Laying on a barren ground
Body broken and soul weak
My voice whispers a prayer on soft lips
A call for release away from this desolate soil
No sooner does the final word extend to the ether
Warmth and peace cascade from the sky
While an angel's touch soothes the pain over this vessel
Ending with a kiss as it shimmers in the breeze
Slowly the eyes crack open to see
A nuzzling kitty encouraging to stir more free
Smiling and stroking its soft fur in warm arms
Continuing the journey together once started alone
