Her nose flared as she peered out of her empty, small den. It was still fairly morning in the lands, but still burning hot, nonetheless. The adult kept herself close to her homelands, regardless of the fact that she disliked their ways and motives. She mostly stayed close because of her love for her father, the one Firekin she truly drew close to in her short lifetime. Although, she barely got to know her mother. So, today she planned to go out searching for her. It was time to have a long chat with Mpeka.

She slowly stood up, stretching her limbs, one by one. As a bone popped and released air within her joints, she sighed with relief. Shaking her fur, she padded out, her blood red pelt matching nicely with the desert's sandy tones.

The old lioness lay sprawled over a heated rock, golden eye's scanning the desert as her old bones rested from a days attempted hunt.
She hadn't caught anything in a few days and was afraid she might have been losing her touch.
...
No, the desert going prey was just getting faster.
Bloody things.

However, as she seethed over her loss her attention was turned to a much more pleasent subject.
As the scent of her daughter soon caught her sensitive nose.

The sight of her daughter all grown up made the lioness reflect on just how old she was and sat up slightly, still upon her warm perch.

"Moto'!" She said happily. "Look at you, you're all grown up."

Motobi'ata spotted her familiar mother, as a welcoming scent made its way to her. She smiled, and came closer, as her mother came into view.

"Hey, mom!" She bounded over lightly with happiness, like a young playful cub. She hadn't seen her mother in literally ages, as for even the Firekin pride was large and she had been off exploring for quite some time. Most of her siblings ventured from the lands, and disappeared for good.

"Yeah, I am." She nodded rapidly. "And you still look the same! Of course, the way I recall you as."

The older lioness gave a proud, aged smile at her older daughter.
She moved off her rock and toward's her daughter, before gently nuzzling against her.
She was her mother after all.

She then drew herself back, brows lifting as her golden eye's looked over her daughter's new grown up form.

"So, what have you been up to?"

Moto squinted her eyes, thinking about where she had gone, what she had done. "Well, its hard to recall all of it, but I ventured off the border a bit, traveled around there, and came back. I've met a few lions while I was out there, though I didn't exactly know if they were of the blood or not, mother. I wouldn't want to trust them." She looked towards the dunes, and the sun shining brightly above them both. A purr churned lightly in her throat, as she sat contently. "Besides that, I haven't done very much. I saw father, though. I hadn't seen him in ages, or well, I haven't seen you either. I guess you are upset I haven't been around, aren't you, mother? ... i'm sorry for going off."

Mpeka smirked at her daughter slightly, ears flattened back against her skull as she got comfortable listening to the younger female.
She'd gone past the border? That worried her slightly, but she was proud her daughter hadn't put her trust into any of the common, non blood lions she'd encountered.
It made her very happy with her daughter.

She then shook her head at the last of her daughters words.

"Moto, I could never be angry with you...you've done very well with your travels."

The lioness nodded. "Thank you, mother." She bowed lightly, smiling even more at Mpeka. She was hiding something, and she didn't want to hold it in longer. "There were lots of lions out there, mother. Many who ... carried the red pelt. I think they were just trying to get into the pride. Though, there is one that I met. I didn't want to tell you right away, but ... I found a lion. He was hurt badly, and so I brought him back to my den with me, when I returned. He looked like he was of the blood, and he had complete amnesia."

She looked down, somewhat afraid to hear her mother's reaction. She folded her ears back. "I know I shouldn't have done the deed, but he was different."

In one flash, she'd turned from mother, to proud pride member and a surge of anger went through her and bubbled out through her muzzle as she rose to her paws and snarled slightly.

"You did WHAT!?" She practicly roared before shaking herself, trying to calm herself down before she rested back onto her backside.
She was too old to try and fight her own daughter and stared hard at the female instead as she tried to get the information through her skull...her daughter had brought a rogue...or atleast a forgotten member of the blood...into the pride?
She took a deep breath and then sighed.

"Daughter you really shouldn't have done this...what would the King think of this? He'd see it as treachery!"

She lowered herself, looking away. "I'm sorry, mother. I ... I didn't know. I just didn't want to see him suffer. He was going to die out there!" She closed her eyes in sadness. She never wanted to do anything wrong to upset Uncle ...

"I'm sorry, I really am, Mother." She stood up, and backed up slightly. Tears fell from her eyes in an instant. "I ... I don't want to be hurt by Uncle. Maybe its just best ... that I don't say another word of his arrival." She looked back up, her eyes glaring into her mother's. A frown drooped on her maw.

She watched her and then sighed loudly, a frustrated sound that passed out through her nostrils as she stood there and watched her daughter.
As she saw her daughters tears though, a motherly impulse rushed over her form and she lifted a paw to gently whap her daughter over the head.
Not to hurt her, just to bring her to her senses.

"Get ahold of yourself girl, Kimeti won't harm you as long as I have a say in it, he'll have to get by me if he wants to harm my children." She said, a strong, protective tone to her voice as she watched her.

"But it may be best that you don't mention this to him till we find out if your friend is actually of the blood."

Her eyes lit up as her mother comforted her. She stopped crying and attempted to listen to it all. Her mother was tougher than father, but she still had feelings, which was good! "Really ...? You would face Uncle?" She was rather shocked that her mother would even stand up to such a powerful force. "Wow ... thats cool."

As her mother turned serious, she nodded. "I will not tell a soul. Well, except for you, mom." She purred lightly. "I'll make sure than no one has the chance to take a good look at him, until you see him for yourself." She smiled, and stood back up, flicking her tail about happily. Maybe it was best to tell Mpeka these things, it would make everything all better, right?

The older female smirked as she was called 'cool', it'd certainly been a long time since one of her children had called her that and she watched the awe on her daughters face before stretching slightly.
She was old, but she still had some fight in her and if anyone tried to hurt her family she'd make she was going down with atleast a hunk of their hide in her muzzle.

As Moto spoke of not showing anyone the strange lion to anyone, until she'd atleast find out if he was of the blood, the old lioness let a smile soften her usual hard features.
She then moved to nuzzle her daughter, so proud with her.

"That's my girl, you've grown up so much."
