No, not quite. A slide by itself means just slide up to any random note
(in most cases the higher the better). This just means you slide without actually picking the second string. Legato slide.
wink And I'm pretty sure you're talking about a vibrato for the other symbol. Other wise I have no idea!
A vibrato is when you vibrate the string with your left hand. You kind of bend up and then release it really fast between a quarter note a couple of times. Looks a bit like this: ~~~
