Everyone crying
Over two people dying
two in a critical state
who lucked out on fate...

On February second two thousand seven
Two high schoolers went to heaven
Lopez and Davids,
Just couldn't make it

A sad lonely day
When they passed away.
Not going to be lost in our mind
Until the day when we will find

We will see them again
even though we don't know when
Jenna and Karon made it through
People wanting to know what to do

I cried
Even though i tried
I felt so hopeless
throughout this whole mess

I did my best
Putting on his silver vest
I walked out the door
Wanting to do more

I went back to that school
Feeling like a fool
When everyone was crying
And i just felt like dying...

I went for comfort
On the basketball court
Where Andrew spent so many hours
Where there we dozens of flowers

I broke down
and couldn't stop to frown
Now I write this
To let everyone know how much we miss

So even though their gone
It may not be for very long
but you should know, You'll be missed
Even though you hold death's kiss...

arrow Hamlet of Wallkill — State police said two teenagers died on their way to Wallkill High School yesterday morning in a head-on crash on Route 300.

Police said John Lopez, 15, of the hamlet of Wallkill, was pronounced dead at the scene. Andrew Davis, 17, also of Wallkill, died later at the Newburgh campus of St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital.

Classes and athletic activities were cancelled and the district brought in counselors to help students cope with the tragedy. The school will be open starting at 9 a.m. tomorrow for those who need further counseling.

Police are still investigating the cause of the double fatal accident at the border of the towns of Newburgh and Shawangunk, which also injured four other people, including two students.

Police said a westbound Dodge Stratus driven by Karon Lawerence, 17, crossed into the oncoming lane and into the path of a Hyundai Tuscon SUV driven by Glenn Bo, 41, of Wallkill. Lopez, Davis and Jenna Neri, 16, all of Wallkill, were passengers in Lawerence's car.

Lawerence was taken to St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, while Bo and Neri were flown to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. Neri suffered head trauma while Bo suffered a fractured knee and a back injury. There was no further word on their conditions.

A sixth victim, Jeryl May, 45 and also of Wallkill, suffered minor injuries when she tried to drive around the accident scene and struck the front end of Bo's vehicle. She was treated at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital and released.

(((The two that died {Andrew and John} were very close to me and my boyfriend and i just wrote this poem for him and me. We are going to read it at the funeral and put it in the casket with both of them... I just wanted to know what you thought...)))

It's so tragic and unfair when a life is taken away right at its prime by such a common occurrence. I really felt the power of this poem. You did a wonderful job of expressing your emotions.

That was absolutely wonderful. Your words really did a great job at showing everyone how you feel.. Car crashes are quite possibly the most horrible ways to die.. And I am truely sorry for your losses.. I know what it's like to lose a friend that way..

Last year, one of my friends I'd known since pre-school, died in car accident two weeks before graduation. sad
