Elazu fished inside of his money pouch as he listened to Ziya, what could he and his new friend possibly buy? So he wasn't the only one who didn't get candy on a regular basis?
" I dun get to eat candy very much. My older brother, Kisten, acts funny after he eats it. He made such a mess once!" He nodded as if to confirm his own statement. " So my mommy said that we can't have candy in da house no more." He shrugged, hopping back to the glass display case.
" What candy you wants? I'll buys it, my treat." He snickered at his own attempt at a joke.

Ziya now eyed the candy with suspicion. What if it made him act funny too. he did not want that to happen.
"Is it dangerous?" he asked Elazu as he eyed the lolly he wanted. "I wants that one, but not if I is going to act funny." He grinned a little at Elazu's joke and went back to watching all the children around him. They didn't seem to be going crazy.

Elazu snickered at Ziya question, but then paused as he thought about it. Did the candy make him act funny too? Not really, just gave him a burst of energy then made him tired later. He shook his head, eyeing the candy in the glass display again, maybe he wouldn't get chocolate maybe something that would last him longer.
" My brother only acts weird I guess, 'cause candy doesn't make me act funny. Doesn't make my other brothers act funny eithers." He made his way toward a shelf with packaged red licorice, now that looked good.

Ziya smiled. Well, that was all right then.
"Cooool." Ziya grinned, looking around at all the colourful sweeties. "Then iss okay." Following his new friend to the counter he peered at the red stuff. "Oooh that looks good too. Maybe I should find my dad. He might buy me some." he said, wondering if his dad was still in the convenience store or now searching for him.

" I buy you some! No worries!" He picked up one of the packages of red licorice, then smiled at Ziya brightly. He wanted to buy some treats for his new friend, and he also wanted to test his money skills. His older brother and mother had been teaching him the values of each coin and bill and he had it down pretty good, but now was going to be the ultimate test. Actually buying something, well somethings.
" You get somefing too, whatevers you wants!." And he meant it, sure he was learning the values and knew what to give to the cashier when asked ( most of the time) but he had little concept of how much he had in his coin purse, having lost count by now and certainly too excited to try counting once more.

Ziya grinned as he watched Elazu order.
"Fank you." he said gazing around at the different things and wondering how Elazu knew what coins couls pay for what. "Can I have one of them fings please?" He asked the cashier, pointing to a colourful lollypop with a grin. "How does you know how much they is?" he asked Elazu looking at the coins in his hand.

" I don't!" Elazu grinned goofily. He really didn't know how much most things he paid for were, but knew what to give the cashier when prompted to pay. " My mommy and Aubrey teaches me how much they are thoughs. Aubrey did a'cause he wanted me to be able to pay for stuffs by myself, and so he didn't haves to follows me around all da time. Or somefing like dat."
The cashier handed Elazu his bag of licorice and handed Ziya his large lollipop, smiling warmly as he told Elazu the amount. Elazu paused a moment, calculating how much that was and how much he would need to give the cashier. A moment of silence and then Elazu held out his hand with coins in it, smiling brightly. The cashier counted the amount then smiled back, commenting on how exact change was always a good thing.
Elazu jumped away from the counter, landing beside Ziya with a grin then started to head out of the store, bag of candy in hand, and a rope of licorice already hanging from his mouth.

"WOW, you is sooo clever." Ziya said as Elazu got the money correct and they got their sweets. Holding the lolly in his chubby had Ziya grinned at the bright colours and admired it for a moment before following Elazu out of the shop. Shoving it in his mouth once they were out he grinned as the sweet fruity flavour melted on his tongue.
"MMMMMM." he said through the lolly. "This is good." Grinning he glanced around and spotted his dad looking rather frantic outside the convenience store.
"hey, there's my daddy! Come on, we can shows him what we gots!!"

Elazu hummed happily as he ate more pieces of licorice. " Fank yous."
He was glad his new friend was enjoying his lolly, and especially glad that his new friend thought he was clever. Today was defiantly a good day to have wandered off on his own.
Elazu peered toward the direction that Ziya seemed to be heading toward. His daddy was over there, and this candy was defiantly show-off worthy. So the young shadowling skipped off with Ziya, shoving another piece of licorice into his mouth. " Okie!"
